Not to sound panicked or negative but at what point does philly let the thought of trading g creep into their minds? Return would be huge and wouldn't have to worry about his next big contract. Yes things are getting that bad. I mean this team need to redo all their d except maybe schenn and grossman. Thoughts??? |

Trading G would cause significantly more problems than it would solve. |

I don't think that thought is in Holmgren's head. I think they truly see Giroux as the face of the franchise and the one to build around. |

I would have gone with this:
- Atomic Wedgie
We don't discuss hacking my back door on this site Atomic! My programmer may be nuts but no young high school kid has the chops to play games with me!
Not when I can use Jsaq as my troll shield.
Tangent as my straight man foil.
MJL as my dartboard or bazooka (jury is still out).
BulliesPhan as my cohort in crime.
Skippy as a mentor as to what I want to be when I grow up.
Nick as a moral lesson to never root for the Penguins.
And I can con Joe into discussing martial arts
(And many, many more)...
Where was I going with this? Oh yeah... F it... |

That's a bit too extreme.
They don't need to start a whole new rebuild, just complete the one they started in 2011 when they traded Carter & Richards.

thats just (frank)ing stupid....Lavy is grasping for anything right now...(frank)ing dumb.
who is he going to put in shelley???? oooo i forgot hes injured.. get this clown out of here now! - Philly1980
Why is that stupid? He obviously needs more time to develop until he gets to a steady NHL playing level.. he's been having a lot of costly turnovers, he's offering nothing on offense regardless of his linemates, and his defense has only be average. He's still a kid... you don't give up on him, you help him develop in the AHL if need be... Keeping him in the lineup isn't helping him, or the team right now. Are there other problems on the team? Sure... but the thing is, Couturier doesn't need to be in the lineup. |

MJL I need to apologize to you in regard to our discussion on the Devis' style of play. I have noy followed them closely and did not realize that they played such an aggressive forecheck. You were entirely correct, I was entirely wrong, I apologize for disputing your judgement. - spatso

Grace isn't only a proper name. I guess I was overthinking. - PLindbergh31
And in your defense Grace isn't my real name either... My handle is a play off an old nickname... But on the board I'll asnwer to it as BF makes me think "What's a BuffUglyian?" |

Just a thought... Build around schenn coots Jake? Plus big pieces g would bring. I mean it's not like g is carrying Jake. In fact I think it's the other way around. |

I was going to write that Bryzgalov is not the problem, but I realized it would be a waste of time.
Much easier for you guys to just tar and feather the goalie.
I think I've seen this happen once or twice before in the City of Brotherly Love... - Atomic Wedgie
I agree and no goalie will survive in Philly unless the system changes. I said that about Bobrovsky when he was getting roasted. Look what a system in Columbus has done for Bob. We had our goalie and we shipped him out. Bryz probably wishes he was back in Phoenix. |

And how do you propose they complete the aforementioned rebuild after trading Carter & Richards? Drafting? We all know the Flyers couldn't draft a good dman and goalie if their lives depended on it! Track record shows nothing to the contrary |

You're right, they should trade Giroux. absolutely.
As bad as they have been this year, they're not that far away. |

No he is not the problem. But after a month into the season he hasn't been part of the solution either. And with his contract he needs to be.
What Holmgren has to decide though is whether this is because of overuse, which is Lavi's fault, or it is because his history with Phoenix was more a product of the system than his skill. Also, whether he can handle being the center of attention for a long time, whether his teammates can truly trust and/or get along with him, etc.
The answer to all of that determines his fate...not fans opinions. |
