I remember the fond days of Scott Clemmenson. Those were good times... - TheJerseyDevil1
I remember that year, too. Even with that team defense and Brodeur coming back, gone in the first round to a team we should have beaten in 5. Doubt Clemmenson would have fared much better.
I felt bad for Clemmenson that year... he was sent down after playing so well for NJ, and this is because the other backup (Kevin Weekes I believe) would have had to have gone through waivers. |

He went from being a $500k AHLer to $1.2M starting on an NHL team the next season. Did he get his "due" in terms of respect? Maybe not, but doubled his salary and got to start for a year.
Eriksson would be a great idea, but what makes anyone think he's available? Dallas is 2 points away from the 8th spot and he's their best offensive weapon despite being in a slump.

I doubt Dallas would move Loui. To be honest, the devils have a very specific need that will be tough to fill. They need top 6 skill, left handed shot, and cannot have a lot of money on next years cap. Honestly, I am rooting for Toronto to tank hard between now and the deadline. Both MacArthur and Kulemin would look good in NJ but I don't see either being moved unless they fall out of the race, which I admit seems unlikely even for the leafs. |

Todd said it was either a roster player and back-up goalie OR a top prospect. It would depend on the player really. If it was Henrique, hell no, Clarkson, maybe, Andy Greene, maybe. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to trade either. And to me Merrill and Boucher are off the table.

Honestly, if there was ever a time to trade Boucher its now. He has a good shot and not much else is what I've gathered from scouting reports, but breaking stamkos' record has certainly raised his value. He's a high risk prospect that I don't mind keeping, but if we have to give up something of value he would be my pick. |

I thought I could have been the first one to mention it but I don't read every devils blog. I refuse to state the obvious reason for our mentioning the connection, but I am glad lokti is doing good. He is a solid player and I know Kings fans are pulling for him. - seven111dman

Not so sure he got it wrong. Grammatically, I think Loktionov playing well can constitute him "doing good" deeds, as opposed to his well-being or health being confused as as "doing good" (which would be "doing well").
That being said, never read another post of mine, as I am sure I screw up grammar all the time. |

Boucher+Urbom+3rd for Eriksson?
.. or Urbom+2nd for Tanguay? I'll take Tanguay. We'd have quite the stocked lineup with a Tanguay and not giving up anything...
Tanguay-Loktionov-Kovalchuk
Elias-Henrique-Bernier
Carter-Zajac-Clarkson
Ponikarovsky-Gionta/Josefson?-Zubrus
roll those lines. It's not like we have a compressed, tiring schedule or anything..
or, if the 2 lines start struggling..
Tanguay-Loktionov-Kovalchuk
Elias-Henrique-Clarkson
Ponikarovsky-Zajac-Zubrus
Carter-Gionta-Bernier
so much depth. Kostopolous, Matteau and Josefson waiting in the wings..
I'd love to package Tallinder or Fayne for Robidas.
I actually think a pairing of Tallinder-Robidas could be solid.. or Volchenkov-Robidas.. actually anyone with Robidas. |
