havent you noticed they never cover the points? its one of the things they do (or i guess dont do) defensively that pisses me off. the wingers always sag too low, esp since they never get good breakout passes doing it, and never cover points. thats a big reason they get pinned and pucks continue to get thrown at te net in barrages. its esp great when the D reverses the puckup along to the points to no one and goes to their wide open point man. - dillpx183
With the Flyers current defensive zone scheme, the forwards have to drop down low. The players that are further from the net, are the least dangerous. Cover down low around the net, and the slot. Easy to recover to the points and get in line with the shot and block it.
I don't care. Kudos to Laviolette for the change. Flyers have switched their forecheck, kept the 3rd man high. Kept the defenseman back. And they are in the game, and playing with the Devils. The Flyers aren't generating a ton of scoring chances, but they aren't giving up a lot either. Stay patient and wait for an opportunity. - MJL
The key will be staying smart and disciplined in the third. That's where they got burnt by the Rangers. But tonight the effects of Homer's Teddy Roosevelt impression are very evident.

Yep, don't lose patience. Keep playing the same way.
BS call on Rinaldo by the way. He was far enough away from the boards, turned his back. And the impact into the boards wasn't nearly hard enough to warrant a boarding call. Good hit.
