I'll start taking up a collection for bail money.

There will be no witnesses. No need for bail

Yea but he aint the answer.

The Idea is to someday be as good as the Penguins.

Picking up and signing their cast offs aint the way to do it.

Colin is a decent enough player but we have enough decent players. We need good players.

Maybe someone can explain this signing to me. I dont get it.

I wasnt a big fan of Mcdonald and Im still not but he has been growing on me... I dont mind this signing... Cost the Isles nothing and he is gonna be a 4th line guy or a scratch. 2yrs is nothing and a lot of the kids on the farm arent gonna be rdy until then or later (at least the bottom 6 guys.)

He is out producing Okposo in points, heart and hustle...

The problem i have with it is the, "they can't afford a real coach" argument. You're spending 650,00 on a career AHL'er when we have Capuano behind the bench?

Agreed, its a NY Islanders move... The next coach of the Isles is already here and its gonna be Doug Weight... He will be your NHL type coach because of his NHL career... Can it translate into him being a good coach? Who knows? I hope so... I love when he rips the Refs apart after a bad call or no call...

Alright guys, works over... Later

I'd rather give Weight a shot than have Capuano on the bench, I'd much rather have a legit NHL coach with a resume more than anything and let Doug get tutored by him though.

if they plan on keeping him as a fourth liner I like it, but I think he's not suited for any further up in the lineup. Hopefully they'll hold off and not resign Boyes, I really would like to see them make an effort to beef up the first line with a trade or a ufa signing, or even leave it open for training camp and see if one of the kids can fill it

I don't hate it. He has been effective, I don't think they'll move him up in lines. He is'nt bad at what he does, like i said I just hope he can keep playing at the level he has been. That's where I have my doubts. Boyes should absolutely not be signed, trade him to some team that likes the way his points look right now. Unfortunately i doubt the rest of the league is stupid enough to ignore his game and not notice who he is playing with to put up those points.

Wonderful....hopefully some of the old time posters will come back when she leaves!

Solid 2 pts last night. Need, NEED to beat Florida tomorrow, its a must if they are serious about trying to get into the playoffs. Weiss isnt playing for them and he usually manhandles the Isles. Gotta capitalize!

- NewYawkIslandez

Versteeg is out too

Not that I'm happy someone is injured but it just makes the game that much easier. Remember when Florida still had Luongo and the Isles couldn't beat them??? WOW!!! Those were some hard times.

Pretty much he will be put on the 4th line to provide energy, physicality.. and he has 10 pts (more than KO) in 10 minutes a night. This works because we are not going to have a good prospect come up just to play 4th line minutes and situations.. So this works. He's only 29 and he is big. Comparing our 4th line to other teams 4th lines.. We are outproducing them.. The signing (If he continues his hustle, hitting, and heart) is a good one i believe.

I do not have a problem with this move. He has done a good job on the 4th line.

Yes please trade Boyes. Unless they are brutal I want Strome and Nino on the team in October. Isles have to make room. I also want Donovan to get a real shot so I have no problem if Steit is traded. I have a feeling Streit will be back though.

maybe people just enjoy the AHL game better...

according to this logic, i assume you dont watch college basketball or college football being that the VAST majority of players dont play in the NBA or NFL...correct?

- LetsGoIsles

For the record, I used to do play by play for college basketball broadcasts and presently, my son plays college football...

I like what McD's brought this year, but I don't know if it was necessary to give a two-year deal mid-season. Maybe a one-year deal on July 2 if you haven't upgraded there. He's a decent option to round out a roster.

i have no problem MacDonald has been very serviceable 3rd and 4th liner. He hits and goes to the net. I believe he top ten in league hits. Martin is #1.

Here you PAP fact for you. His team is in Last pace in West. Enough Said.
4.5MM to miss playoffs. no thanks.

Boyes has been plenty good. Strome or Nino will be on top line next year.

Depth, The Money is low enough that he can go down to Bridgeport & not hurt, he has been a very good depth player for us. You need to reward those guys.
