The problem i have with it is the, "they can't afford a real coach" argument. You're spending 650,00 on a career AHL'er when we have Capuano behind the bench? - Cptmjl
Who said they cant "afford" a real coach?
Not the team, you heard it from Joe schmoe typing from his basement.
Its not true.

i have no problem MacDonald has been very serviceable 3rd and 4th liner. He hits and goes to the net. I believe he top ten in league hits. Martin is #1.
Here you PAP fact for you. His team is in Last pace in West. Enough Said.
4.5MM to miss playoffs. no thanks.
Boyes has been plenty good. Strome or Nino will be on top line next year. - Spartiarti
he's not the only player on the team, Does that mean No thanks to JT because we missed the playoffs every year he has been here??
See your logic???

More like they rather not afford a real coach. According to Ek Ruff may be looking for a GM and coach job. I think Wang wanted to give both to Brent Sutter at one time or that was the talk at least. |

Depth, The Money is low enough that he can go down to Bridgeport & not hurt, he has been a very good depth player for us. You need to reward those guys.

I can explain it..the martin cizikas and macdonald line are the perfect fourth line.. colin earned it..also this is the best 4th line we have had in years and has more points than our vaunted 2nd line..if you want to be like the penguins you need 4 good lines.... 1 and four an some of the third are good..its the second that is the issue - NYI78

A one way contract can still be sent to the minors, he gets paid he full salary there & it counts against the cap & he has to clear waivers.

I would have liked the hire at the time but now I'm not sure. He seems to wear out his welcome quick. The guy would also freak me out he always had this look on his face like he was miserable behind that bench. I'm not sure about one guy having both jobs. You need a real strong asst GM to make it work well and even then it's not ideal. |

I really hope Joenssu can find form he has before he got injured. He was one of top scorers in the finnish league this year and he also was player that buried TEAM USA in world championships.

Can't say I have a problem with the McDonald signing. He comes cheap and is a decent role guy. If the two year deal means the Martin Cizkkas McDonald line are good for next year and he becomes a fill in player the year after, his cp hit is a blip on the radar. I'm more concerned with the second line at this stage. |

You dont want a point per game player at 4.5 mil...ok thats just dumb.
and your completely bashing how bad paps contract is...meanwhile they have david jones signed to a 4 year 16 mill contract and he has 7 points...and your bashing paps contract!!??? Your argument is nonsense and your completely bashing the wrong parts of that team. |

He's gonna get 2 goals tomorrow!!!
I hate to be a downer...but if anyone wants to take the time to look how we've matched up against the cats...im pretty sure within the last 5 years we've probably lost to the panthers 80 to 85 percent of the time. They just have our number for some reason. JT scores a hat trick against them and the isles still lost. |

Looking at the schedule for the rest of the month... the upcoming 8 games are going to be where we stand with making the playoffs...if they can go 5-3 I think its a very good chance to make the POs. Looking at the matchups the isles can beat the panthers twice, caps, sens and habs. philly and the pens twice are the 3 rough matchups. But we'll never know with how this tends to be. For all we knows, they'll go 3-5 beating the pens twice and beating philly...and losing all the games they should have won. |

This stretch of 8 games will show us what we have no doubt. I gotta good feeling about it... I dont know why.. I'm just more optimistic then I have been in a long time.

If they could ever just grasp what they did in the third against Tampa, and in the second period against New Jersey a few weeks ago, and understand that this is how they need to play all the time, they can be a decent team. They just need to play consistent defense. |
