Tough loss for Bport last night...gave up the deciding goal on a PP in the final two minutes. DP let up three, but was pretty damn good...some unreal saves from the first all the way through. |

I can explain it..the martin cizikas and macdonald line are the perfect fourth line.. colin earned it..also this is the best 4th line we have had in years and has more points than our vaunted 2nd line..if you want to be like the penguins you need 4 good lines.... 1 and four an some of the third are good..its the second that is the issue - NYI78
Agreed...Making one trade for a forward like Clowe and one call up, something like this might work:
1st line: Moulson-JT-Boyes
2nd Line: Clowe- Nelson- Grabner(when he gets back)
3rd line: Bailey-Neilsen-Okposo
4th line: Martin-Cizikas-McDonald
Nelson between two veterans players might help Nelson make the jump to the NHL... |

Amazing when you can play games in the minors and get the rust out. Shame the Isles and DP did not think about this a few years ago. This whole situation was very badly botched. DP would have gotten a lot more support from the fans seeing he was trying to work things out in the minors and not hurting the big club. |

I like what you have there, but I have to ask, I dont see anyone missing from the big club.. so who did we trade to get Clowe?

I know it was in response to that. Just bcs they signed him didn't mean Capuano will utilize him properly |

I think San Jose wants a pick or defenseman for him...so I would offer a 3rd or 4th rd pick or Visnovski... |

Id hope we could do it with picks, because I think Vis can bring us more, plus the fact that when we trade vis.. it leave a really big hole on our back end.. the guy has been nothing short of miraculous since he got here.

I hate the guy but he has been effective. We may get a good return for him. |

Totally agree. it's amazing when you consider the irony that our general manager was once in NHL goaltender yet seemingly mishandled the situation so badly. In addition Nabby is playing too many game. No back up is going to perform well when your starter plays more than 9 consecutive games |

Perfect example why Snow does not get the benefit of the doubt. Regarding the backup this is why I do not get on Poulin. He needs to play not just sit and watch. Young goalies especially need the work. Isles keep doing the same thing with Poulin then some fans wonder why he is not sharp. |

If they could ever just grasp what they did in the third against Tampa, and in the second period against New Jersey a few weeks ago, and understand that this is how they need to play all the time, they can be a decent team. They just need to play consistent defense. - dcb1
The Tampa game was probably the most committed I've seen them to defense that I can remember. |

Agreed Viz has done well with the Islanders but does he want to stay? I don't think he does because I would think Snow would want to sign him instead of Streit. CLowe for a 3rd or 4th rd pick would work I would think. Even Hickey for him would be a good trade even though I think Hickey has done well ( a little small) and has upside... |

I have to think Vish still wants to be traded. This trade deadline cannot get here fast enough. I want to see what the Isles do especially if they are still in it. |

I'd love to be able to sign Vish and trade Steit. I'd rather not have both back. I do not want the same d next year. |

While Streit is good on the powerplay, the rest of his game is lacking. Snow however seems to think otherwise. Defensemen signed for next year are Carkner, MacDonald, Strait, Finley and probably Streit. Hamonic and Hickey are restricted free agents and probably would be signed. So it looks like pretty much the same...don't think Reinhardt is ready yet and I would like to see Donovan get a shot. |

I'd love to have Reinhardt make it next year but that may not happen. Donovan should be up next year. I'd like to see Finley back in the lineup this year. I do not think he played badly. |

Reinhart will most definitely spend time in Bridgeport next season. Depending on how much better his skating gets will ultimately decide if he plays with the Isles at all by then. I think both Reinhart and Mayfield will see time with the Isles in 2015. |

While it's very tough on waiting for the prospects I do not want to hear about how we rushed kids like Bailey anymore. Isles at this stage need to find a way to have enough talent on the big club. Especially this offseason with many teams needing to get under the Cap the Isles should be able to add talent so the kids are not rushed. Snow and company will have a hard time making excuses for not being able to bring in decent talent with the Isles way under the Cap and having picks and propsects to make deals. |
