I don't think we can know that for sure until they actually see some game action at this point. Both have the skill level to compete. I don't think there'd be any harm in giving them a 2-3 game stretch up with the team to see just how their assignment has helped them grow. In addition, it's helpful to them to see what areas need to be improved on to ramp up for the NHL game.
Getting playing time with an AHL team that will be coasting to the finish probably won't help a lot. - keaner17
i can tell you with 100 percent certainity the kabonov is not ready..he is just getting back to form in the ahl,,he almost lost his arm...the two forwards worth a look are nino and nelson.. but there is no harm leaving them where they are..they aren't that far out of a playoff spot |

Every shift they play is useful Exp.
Id rather then down there, getting 10-15min a game, then up here getting 3-5

You're assuming that a call-up automatically means exile to the fourth line for the rest of the season. Doesn't have to be that at all. Call Nino up for a two- or three-game look and put him in the top six. Somehow I think the Isles will live without the amazing goal production and fantastic displays of balance from Kyle Okposo for a couple of games. Then send him back down for his 15+ minutes in the AHL after those games. Doesn't hurt to see where his progress is at. He's not the same player as last season. How far along is he? Is he ready for the NHL? Only a look will give us some idea. I say this as someone who was dead set against keeping Nino up in the NHL last season. There's a big difference between giving a player a few quick looks in the NHL and leaving them there with no plan of action for how to handle them. |

I haven't had a chance to see Kabanov lately so I'll take a mulligan on that one.
I really don't get a chance to see Bridgeport too often but I can see they are in 13th place right now and 5 points out so I suppose they're not done yet, but I'm not expecting DP to carry them to the promised land with only 18 games left.
Since we could use the injection of scoring talent at forward on our second line, I think it would be a great time to give Nino (or Nelson) a spin for a few games. |

That was a BAD penalty by Frans too. Fortunately the team had a wonderful pk! - keaner17
Well if Martinek didn't wiff on the puck Neilson would of been in better position. |

Agreed...but Nielsen still had inside position on him . There was no need to get his glove up into the guys chest. He could have just as easily pinched him off. It was a blatant penalty at a bad time.
That said, Martinek, who I though played great in periods 1 &2, was awful in the final 15 minutes of the game. |

Last night, in the third period, Tampa stole the puck and started what I thought would be the usual odd man rush..3 on 2, with a guy chasing. Imagine my happy surprise at seeing one guy actually BEHIND the two defensemen, ready to clear the dump.....that's how you play when you're winning 1-0, late in the game....it's about time. |

Frankly this team is dead in the water if they make the playoffs. We simply don't play the type of game necessary to win playoff hockey. In addition, and as mentioned previously, without a legitimate secondary scoring threat, other teams can simply play lockdown hockey on JT & Friends, thus turning us into a neutral zone team.
Since it appears Bridgeport's season is actually in worse shape than the Isles, it probably wouldn't hurt to consider bringing up someone like Nino or Kabanov just to see what they can do to help. Neither are going to gain useful playoff experience in the A this season. - keaner17
178, aside from just numbers, can we get an update on kabanov... |

I was trying to count how many times KO fell down last night, but lost track. Might have to stick to counting that per shift.

KO is useless and so is the second and third line. Jack should be rolling two lines the first and fourth. We will win more games that way |

My favorite was after Lindback stopped a shoot-in attempt. All of a sudden you see a Lightning defenseman come into the frame with Okposo hanging onto him for dear life to avoid falling down. |
