Who thinks he is the saving grace?
he's signed for 1 year 1 way... Its about time he is getting into games... see what he has, see if his play at the worlds translates to the NHL & know weather he is part of the future or something to part with in the off season.

I dont think he sucks but I dont think he belongs on a teams #1 line... He would be better suited as maybe a 2nd line guy or a 3rd line guy on a deep team. He has been showing that he can play and has the talent... he just needs to show that he can do it, night in and night out consistantly.
As far as the Isles go, he fits on the Isles 1st line cuz they just arent deep enough right now...
Good win last night but NEED the 2 pts tomorrow for a successful Florida trip IMO. - Bags502
Boyes doesn't suck. He's not great, but he doesn't suck. Reasoner sucks. Bailey sucks. KO sucks. Boyes has been far more productive than the three of those stiffs combined. And don't give me the "he plays with JT" nonsense. So did KO to start the year and he was so God-awful they demoted him. |

Exactly, It will be Boulton and Aucoin until Joensuu is ready... Nino isnt gonna come up this year IMO... - Bags502
Staple made it sound like Joensuu will be ready for Saturday. |

I say give him a shot... he is a better option then Boulton and Aucoin since we arent calling anyone up this year unless more injuries happen... You never know, maybe he figured out how to use his size. |

Not that I disagree entirely, but 11:34/game is more of a chance than Ullstrom and Nino got! |

And in those 60 games, he played well in the limited mins he got.. as well as playing very well in the AHL.
Not every player, not ever prospect can be an all star... some are just role players.
That is the problem with this fan base, they expect every prospect to be a top line player or they are a bust.

I think it is how mangement addresses them. they let us beleive they are amazing players. I mean Garth thinks Boyes is a power forward and is amazing. He thinks KO is doing decently I mean so what are we supposed to think?? |

They might get killed if they make the playoffs, but the Isles need to get there. They have to start showing some growth, some improvement. Going from 13 or 14 in the conference to a playoff team shows improvement. It gives the young guys a taste of playoff hockey and improves the image of the team to potential free agents. I don't care if they get blown out in four games, as long as they get into the playoffs in the first place. - Jethro09
Watching the Calgary/Detroit game a couple of nights ago....thought Curtis Glencross would look good in an Islander uniform. He can skate, plays big, would fit in our top six...If Calgary is a seller might be worth a call.

That was one of the main things I hated about MM, every player he drafted was the next someone... Dumont=Bossy, Bertuzzi=Gillies, B.Lindros=E.Lindros.. its nice to compere players styles to players of the past.. but to put that label around their neck is a recipe for disaster.

I don't know...folks are happy with Cizikas and Martin. They don't score a whole lot, but they're noticeable and you can easily rattle off at least two or three things they do very well in their current roles. I'd be hard pressed to name one area of the game where Joensuu excelled while he was here. It's fine to throw him in the lineup for a few games and see what's what...but it's hard to argue he showed even flashes of being anything more than a depth player in his last go-around. |

I liked your thought of maybe the team's fortunes turning around if we all changed avatars Thought I'd give the embattled Grabner some support too. |
