Lol who are you kidding that was a bad angle shot that Miller should have had I won't dispute what you are saying about Vanek, that much is true. I guess I don't get as upset over it as much as fans from Buffalo do (probably cuz I don't have to deal with the Bills as well ) - Sabresfan-365
Miller had no chance, it was a (frank)ing blast of a shot. He put it in the one spot that Miller's body couldnt get to. It was a one timer. Malkin and Stamkos score those goals all the time. Turris put it in the smallest of windows that Miller couldnt cover.
Dont know how the (frank) you blame that on Miller. |

Vanek needs to go. He was brutal again tonight. Anyone who says he isn't lazy is out of their mind. Floated the whole game and was abysmal in his own end - sbroads24
Absolutely. Ship him off in a package deal for a guy who consistently does his job. Vanek, Miller, Stafford, Leo/2nd for Perry and Hiller... |

Vanek had a chance, he just cant snipe the puck like everyone thinks he can. He always shoots it into the one area the goalie has a chance at making the save. - theblueandgold
yeah and it was from a broken entry into the zone. with the game on the line look at what ottawa did. even if they didnt score on that pp they were all over us. |

From that angle, short side, that should be stopped every time. Period. |

I think he's still hurt, not lazy but I'm not opposed to unloading anybody. Personally, I trade Vanek for whatever you can get (should be something decent) and go all out for Perry in the offseason. - buffalofan19
Why the hell would you do that. If you are trading Vanek you're rebuilding with young talent not trading one overpaid player to sign another one... |

There were some bad goals this game, but that turris shot was a rocket in the absolute perfect spot...i dont think you can fault miller on that - TheMike12
This is what we have to deal with on a regular basis. Miller gets blamed for goals like that all the time.
He had one bad goal this game, the wrap around. |

You should only trade if you can get a ton of good assets in exchange. I don't care how much of a floater he is, he's a top offensive weapon and you don't get those every day... I'd trade a half dozen of the most hardworking grinders in the world for a guy with Vanek's scoring talent. |

At this point, though, if someone is willing to give me a 1st for him, especially a non-playoff team, I'm all ears. |

A bad trade that Anaheim wouldn't be interested in either. |

I don't think any of us can actually root for us to lose,
But I think we all realize it's for the best too
We need to get a top3 pick,
And trade our "big3" in the offseason
It's time to blow it up
Last thing we need to do is pretend we can contend & become another version of Calgary
Signing our top guys to deals late into their 30s would just be stupid - jdfitz77
Agree in relation to Vanek and Miller.Id like to keep one scoring winger with Hogie tho so Pommer if we can resign for 5 or 6. |

We are on pace to get Drouin or MacKinnon. I think we can let Vanek go. Plus we have a young Vanek coming in Armia.
If Vanek can get us a top 6 forward thats less talented, cheaper, a prospect, and a pick, I'd do it in a heartbeat. |

It was super weak...but what an incredible shot by turris...one time that shot in from that angle..
fun game as always - TheMike12
Glad you guys won. Leino coming back wont change a thing. The Sabres are a bad team with a couple skilled players. No one has stepped up and shown leadership. Pomminville is the softest and worst center in the NHL. |

Nobody wants to root for this team to lose here, it's just a crappy way to feel. No one wants to cheer for their team to suck just so they can get a good draft pick. |

He can't be your best forward. He seriously disappears for games on end. Our top line was horrible, if they play a decent game we win today, and Vanek was the worst of the bunch |

He's got to be worth more than that. How many more years does he have on his contract?
He may not be a good leader/focal point, but at the very least he can be an incredibly valuable complimentary piece in the right circumstance, a la Heatley in Ottawa pre-hissy fit. |

Yea well unfortunately the blue-collar fans in Buffalo don't really like the talented kind
This is why I can't wait for Grigorenko to get to the NHL. If you think fans here hate on Vanek's work ethic just wait until they get to sink their teeth into a russian |

Why not Miller was one on with the goal scorer and he lost ? Wouldnt you say thats getting beat ? |
