They'd be more likely than one of my choices. - ob18
I suspect that your first choice would be my first choice, Jim Nill. At the same time we both know he's not likely to leave the Red Wings. I wouldn't be against Rick Dudley, either. He's shown a lot of ability to build a team into a contender.
Paul Fenton is another guy that always seems to get a ton of consideration when GM openings come up. |

I'd do it but for it to be with Pittsburgh they'd have to overpay - ob18
Absolutely. I'd want more from the Pens or Rangers or Devils than any other team in a deal for Talbot. |

the problem is they don't have a defined box. The flyers are all over the place. Every 5 years or so its something different.
Edit: the only constant with them is drafting forwards. - JoeRussomanno
yeah kind of, from Hitchcock & the defensive style to Lavy & the fire wagon.

I don't know but maybe a 2nd & 4th (which could be this year or next) might do it. |

All three I named made their bones in that regard.
But they're the kind of guy I'd look at. |

I think they really need to find a middle ground. Not a defensive first style of play. And not as aggressive and slanted towards the offensive side, as with Laviolette.

I'd at least ask for one of their defensive prospects.

I think if they lost both against NJ, Laviolette would have been fired by now.
I could see Holmgren walking the plank, too. I'm sure Ron Hextall could have his arm twisted to return. - Jsaquella
i don't see homer getting the pink slip over this whack job of a season, even if they had lost. |

That's about what I'd expect. I'd try like Hell to stretch it out into a couple of seconds, but that'd require desperation on another team's part. |

I agree, seems Hitch & Lavy are each the extreme for defensive & offensive hockey respectively |

I'd change it if was a 3rd or 4th plus one of Joe Morrow,
Scott Harrington, or Olli Määttä I don't think they will part will
Derrick Pouliot or maybe even some of who I listed.

Well, yeah. If they were willing to send Despres over, I'd consider a straight up deal. I almost always prefer a warm body over non first rounders. |

I do to but I think they've been very impressed with him to want to give up a NHL body when they probably also would like to land another d-man as well. |
