I do to but I think they've been very impressed with him to want to give up a NHL body when they probably also would like to land another d-man as well. - ob18
Yeah, I doubt they'd be willing to move him. But, I'd be more than happy to land Maata or some of the others. I'd be shocked if they were willing to give up Pouliot, too

You give me a 3rd & Määttä I'll help back Max's bags.
Just heard Nick Kypreos, during intermission of Canucks game, say Ryan Millers days in Buffalo over. Would like to trade him at deadline, but may need to wait till offseason.

This is a good explanation or pitch for hextall to be GM, I just hope it works, should it come to fruition. But he did come up through this organization and IMO the Kings didn't do anything that creative. Quick got hot and the team did what they needed to do to close the deal imo. Nothing wrong with that but if we're gonna plan on that happening for us, it might be another 30 years before we do see another cup. In that case might as well just keep homer till he drops dead. - JoeRussomanno
Mostly, I'd like to see whoever it is to come up with a long term plan and stick with it. Not chase what other teams do.

The guys on NHL XM had Regeher and Stafford to the LA Kings.
Lots of talk about Buffalo dealing guys.
I'd change it if was a 3rd or 4th plus one of Joe Morrow,
Scott Harrington, or Olli Määttä I don't think they will part will
Derrick Pouliot or maybe even some of who I listed. - ob18
are we still talking about trading for Talbot...?
you would be lucky to get a 3rd and a 5th for him.
I know in a normal market but with a short season overpayment will be more of the norm to make a move. - ob18
I agree, but Shero doesn't overpay, especially for guys like Talbot. If you think you could find that type of deal from someone, all the power to you, but you wont get that return from Pittsburgh.
and do you guys see the flyers buying out Bryz or Briere? I would be interested in seeing Briere next to Crosby if he is bought out but not under his current contract.

I'd take those picks, but being within the division it might cost more. Plus he's under a friendly contract for a few more years that also might be appealing to any team if they have interest.

Briere maybe, Bryz not at the moment. - ob18
eh I wouldn't call Talbot's contract "friendly"... it isn't awful like some people make it out to be, but he isn't at a discount.
you guys going to be sellers at the deadline or staying pat?
hoping the penguins stay away from Iginla and those other big names.

Because Kunitz and Dupuis clearly suck playing with him.
/sarcasm
but seriously, why break up what is maybe the best line in the NHL right now?
The Pens looked great without Letang today. They should trade him to Philly.

haha Crosby plays well with anybody. That's why I wouldn't want Iginla or any other top 6 guy, I don't want to break up that line, but Briere was always a favorite of mine. he absolutely kills the penguins in the playoffs so having him might have two benefits.
but I am worried about Letang. He will be a serious candidate for the Norris and the more and more he does, the more and more he will want. I wouldn't be shocked to see him traded to a team like EDM for one of their good wingers or to another team for a pretty impressive package.
Given the play of Despres this year, plus other prospects waiting in the system, I guess it makes Letang expandable, but it wont be as easy losing him as it was Staal.
