Criticized Kaleta for being upset about being a healthy scratch. Said that he made a stupid play and needs to grow up.

Granted, it's Kaleta, but a guy who is a team leader saying that kind of stuff publicly is never a good thing.

Parity maybe. This roster can't possibly play as bad as a team like the Panthers or Jackets have recently.

The Flyers have enough guys who cant skate and that are defensive defenseman. They need a player like Yandle.

I think you need a mix and this team lacks a puck moving defenseman who can also help on the PP. Would be nice to have an offensive defenseman on this current roster.

Hainsey is similar to what we have an abundance of, but if we traded Mesz or Coburn, he'd be a decent replacement. Maybe its the name, but Smid is still young, can be physical, decent shot, 3-4 d-man IMO. I get a chance to watch Gonchar closely up here. After Ottawa signed him for 3 years at 5mil cap hit, he sucked the first season. Fans up here hated him. Last season he bounced back, and this year he looks real solid. Especially since the Karlsson injury. I'd take any of these 3 guys with a decent cap hit.

On that list there's zero "great" options...couple of good ones, but they'll be overpaid second pair guys like Smid and Hainsey. Whitney would be interesting, assuming he'd accept a "Let's see what happens" deal, sort of like Souray did a couple years ago.

I'd like to keep Gagne and Read, maybe Talbot too. Gotta keep some vets for the kids. Coburn, Mesz, and Briere might be good deadline or draft deals. Bryz is a complicated situation.
