Your not actually going to say the team that is in third weather carolina or the jets deserve third are you. And begrudgingly hats off to ottawa for what they've achieved thus far but as you of all people should know when then playoffs come it doesn't matter if your 1st or 8th long as your in cause placing first doesn't save your ass if you lose in them. By the way i can say with confidence that the leafs will make the playoffs as will th sens and habs. which is more than i can say than in the past

I hate the rule each division winner gets a top three spot. Should be a playoff spotat most. That being said, they are where they are. They may fall out, they may not. Same with ottawa and toronto. I just don't think all the rage at the team is neccesary.

To be fair, that goes both ways. Plenty of leaf (among many, many others) troll all blogs. Part of being on a Hockey Board. There are Leaf boards out there I assume. This way is so much better though, you get tons of other sides of the story. You may put up with the occasional troll, or annoying post, but you get better discussion going. Also, you'll get a thicker skin as well as have a lower tolerance for things you might of thought was trolling but actually isnt.

What I don't understand is that there were ties in the NHL since they began what in the 1920's ? even when hockey expanded in the US in the late 60's & early 70's. So Americans for decades have watched the NHL with ties. So all of a sudden, the Americans are confused about ties? What were they doing during the previous decades of NHL ties?

The shootout HAS to go. Here's is the solution that works. Nix the shootout. Play 10 minutes of OT. The team that scores get 3 points. The team that loses gets ZERO. If at the end of the 10 minutes, no one scores, they each get a point, end of game, game ends in a tie. Due to the 3 points on the line & the elimination of the loser getting 1 point, that 10 minutes will be very intense. But to make it even more exciting, the 1st five minutes is 4 on 4, the last 5 monutes is on 3 on 3. Imagine all the breakaways!!!!!
