At the very worst it'd be a different player of the same calibre, an ashton or a percy etc. + maybe a 2nd, but it should do it....
Kulemin would be a decent fit for them. |

Aren't rumblings & rumours when you cut it down to size, the same thing? Look at em both in a sentence:
There are rumblings that the Leafs are interested in Ryan Clowe.
There are rumours that the Leafs are interested in Ryan Clowe.
Neither mean that a deal is imminent. They mean the same thing me thinks. - GCHonda
Yes, they mean the same thing. The point I was trying to make was that either way it isn't going to happen. Eklund can call it what he wants. |

I'd love the Leafs to get Clowe but Kule is 4 years younger, so FUK the Leafs giving up 2 players for Clowe, should the other way around. I never realized b4 that Kule is 4 years younger. Nix the Kulemin/Colborne for Clowe deal. Should be Kule for Clowe & something else. |

I agree 100%. They both mean squat as far as trades being close to reality. |

Even less so because it's Eklund's opinion. |

Why on earth would the Sharks want Colborne..He cant even play for the Leafs now and he's slow...Kulemin disappears like a magic trick for games on end..We have enough of those type of players already.. |

Even more laughable is that Philly fans think they are getting Despres, Maata, Pouliet with picks. - lloyd095
If they think that, those people are the dumbest hockey fans in the world. I'd give a fourth round pick for Talbot. That is it.
That would be like me asking for Wayne Simmonds for TK. |

I don't know any Philly fan that thinks they're getting any of them, let alone any Philly fan that wants any of them.. |

Nobody in Philly has so much as mentioned Depres or any of the other said players.

Flyers are going more toward veteran d-man route. Latest rumor has JBO to Philly for Read + pick/prospect. Even a little chatter of bigger deal involving Iginla also, although I find that highly doubtful. |

Its funny how the team he built is actually winning now. Unloading Schenn for JVR? Brilliant. - theblueandgold
Yeah, Schenn, one of of the leading (or the leader) hitters in the NHL, a plus player on a bad defensive corps, on a struggling team, and 22 years old.
How horrible. Great "unload".
Let's give it some more time before we judge, after all, Toronto has JVR for the next 6 years, and consistency and staying healthy were his 2 problems in Philly.
And L Schenn makes less $...for now. |

1.75m a season for a third line winger is not a bad contract at all - DDM-Coga
We are spoiled having Cooke and Dupuis for $1.8M and $1.5M respectively. Talbot, if he was to re-sign with Pittsburgh, wouldn't get more than $1M from us.
Anyway, I'd take him for a cup run if the price was right. We could always trade him again if he fails to impress. |

Truth is JVR is the superior player and this trade doesn't look as good as it was supposed to. But, as you said, let's wait and see. |

Despres is already a better player than L.Schenn. What are you talking about? |

In the AHL.
Edit: mistype.
They're a year apart. Not exactly a veteran to rookie comparison. Again, "better' is fairly subjective, and dependent upon the team one plays for. |

Quantify that. Better how, exactly?
And does better this year mean better for the next 6 years?
JVR is good, but so is L Schenn. |

Forget. I don't expect you to understand what I'm saying. You have to watch Despres play to see for yourself. |
