My boss is a huge fan. Apparently the actual Dude does some appearances from time to time. - Atomic Wedgie
Jeff Dowd is his name, he' done a few Lebowski Fests. The one upcoming in LA is featuring one of the inspirations for Walter. His name is Peter Exline.
A large number of Walter's quotes are directly from him (Man in the black pajamas being one) and he's responsible for the enduring theme of the rug. The Coens were at a Super Bowl party at his house, and he kept talking about the rug he trashpicked really tying the room together. |

I do worry about Meszaros' durability, but prior to the last year or so, he had been very durable. The injuries to his ankle and shoulder were kind of freakish.
But I'm open to trading either him or Coburn for a nice package with some higher pick...or even both. - Jsaquella
If we can sell Meszaros and/or Coburn at the TDL, I think we could fill their spots with a decent #3-4 d-man this summer. The UFA market lacks any #1-2 d-men, but it's not horrible for depth d-men.
My personal pick would be Smid or Hainsey. You move bodies out at this TDL while gaining picks and/or prospects, sign one of those guys without giving up anything this summer. |

He's that type of defenseman, but he's just not good anymore. Has been the Sharks worst defenseman all year - by a longshot.
Big, slow and immobile turnstile. Last thing the Flyers need. - bradleyc4
I admittedly haven't watch many Sharks games this year. If he's lost a step, he's a big liability. |

Have you seen "Red"? It's got Bruce Willis, Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren. Willis, Malkovich and Freemen are retired CIA operatives who are being hunted down over a mission from 1981 in Guatemala to hide a secret from a powerful politican's past.
It's a lot of fun and Malkovich is awesome in it. - Jsaquella
It was a better comic book. |

I'm not a huge fan of Hainsey, and with the shallowness of the market, I could see him being more expensive than Coburn or Meszaros. The problem with Smid is, he's more of a stay at home type. They have two of those in Grossmann and Schenn |

I really never got this reasoning. Especially how it pertains to comicbooks considering how much adult level content is them. |

Exline also had his car stolen and when it was recovered, he found the kid's homework and confronted the kid with the homework in a baggie, accompanied by another inspiration for Walter, named Big Lew Abernathy. |

Considering that it's meant in jest, there's really no reasoning behind it.
I dress up like a cable repairman in a porn flick to bowl, watch a movie I have seen 3,000 times and drink white Russians with a bunch of other maniacs. To each his own |

Never... I'm reading Chew right now. It's about a guy who solves crimes by eating things and reliving their past. You'll be watching it on DVD in a couple years. |

not you in particular but I frequently find myself on the receiving end of humor for partaking in the finer things in life from others... oh well... I shall pray for the ignorant. |

I absolutely loved that film - except the end really is weak.
Really - nobody ever noticed that how he eats his oreo cookie is his "tell"?

I'm not a comic book guy, but some of the stories and art in those things are amazing.
Also worth noting: Just about every major movie that has come out recently has been based on comic books.
