That's what I thought. Just a tiny bit disappointing.

Yeah, he's going to jump at a chance to sign here and play with the guy that turned his back on the UNO team. - Jsaquella
meant more in terms of our front office-the program. obviously not expecting it to mean we're a shoe in, but some familiarity
i wasn't even thinking of the possibility of a personal relationship between the two players. that said, i doubt that would be a negative. this kid is jumping early to go to the nhl...i'd think that players in that situation know it's more about career development than anything else |

I know.. I wasn't talking about you personally.. I was referring more to the general blind faith on this site that a lot of flyers fans have on here. ( bill says something, everyone agrees) flyers make a move ( no one questions it) maybe not ( everyone) but definitely most. E.j. On NHL live top 5 today had top 5 buyouts... Surprise surprise briere #5 bryz #1. Lol - SMS4016
Most media are not focused on truth any longer, but profit.
Anyone thinking of buying out Bryz better have a solution in net because the 2010 tandem 2.0 isn't it.
It's awfully short-sighted to think Bryz is the issue this year when the team consistently gives up a lot of chances, a lot of quality chances, and a lot of odd-man rushes; while also having a tougher time with Breakouts than a one-handed kid in the 80's with no Atari 2600. The team has Bryz to thank for the wins it *does* have.

It's a possibility. I just don't like a lot of what is out there. It's well and good to say you're going to buy the guy out, but how do you replace him?
Do you overspend to acquire a Bernier and hope that he can be a full time starter? Do you throw a pooppot full of money at a guy like Emery? I doubt he signs a small deal this summer, if Chicago even lets him it free agency.
I wouldn't even rush to a decision on Bryzgalov this summer. The only thing buying him out this summer guarantees is more cap room to start free agency. |

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
No surprise, but Andrej Sustr, 6-foot-8 Univ of Nebraska-Omaha junior dman (UFA), has officially decided to leave school/field NHL offers. - ob18
Well. He would immediately be inserted into our 3rd pairing if he wants the ice time |

I was in the "buy out Breeze" camp until talent evaluator extraordinaire, Mike Milbury, stepped up with his insight. Now I'm not so sure |

It was the same when Boucher set the NHL record with 5 straight shutouts. Still a career backup.
The Flyers signed Bryzgalov to a long ass deal, there was no reasonable expectation for them to keep Bob. It's a shame that Laviolette mishandled the goalies bad enough for Snider to issue a declaration.
It's a bigger shame that they immediately re-signed Leighton instead of getting a solid starter, so Bob could play in the AHL for a year or two. - Jsaquella
Laviolette really took his opinion of the goalie situation and rubbed management's face in it. |

They could settle with Nabokov or Backstrom on 1-2 year deals. Not sure what the price will cost though. |

I know, just joking.
I think there will be a few teams that can offer him an immediate NHL job. That's a possible factor. I believe it was a factor for Justin Schultz, too. |

from the game I saw, he is a bit slow in decisionmaking. Can't see him making the jump right away. Well, on second thought, maybe he'd fit right in. |

Guys like this tend to get promised that they will be allowed to burn a year of their contract by staying in NHL
I'm open to it honestly, it's what they'll have to do to land him. |

Injury prone and older. Unless the savings are significant, why not just use Bryz for one more year?
Buying him out in summer of 2014 shortens the payout by two years |

Possible. If he's committed to playing, and puts the team first, rather than himself, I have zero issue with him. |

I hope we get a good 60 minute effort from the boys tonight. they're rested and have plenty of rest coming up. no reason not to give a full effort. |

There are apparently plenty of goalies who are going to be available at the trade deadline or in the off season. I don't think it's a real stretch to think you could pull in one of them to put up the same stats at a reduced cost.
He's certainly not carrying the team and the team's given him spotty support at best. I'd certainly have to be considering it but it would have to come in a series of moves that upgraded my defense and required me to free up cap space. Otherwise I'm probably torn this off season. If I don't think i can make the moves to make this team a Cup contender in the off season why wait a year? |

You can't do that under the new CBA I heard. |
