C. Perry resigns with Ducks apparently. - Hatchet
Where is this coming from? They just gave Getzlaf a fortune. I find it hard to believe they locked up Perry as well. |

Looking at the schedule a top 5 pick isn't out of the realm of possibility. 8 of the last 18 vs. Rags, Bruins, Pens, Habs. Not many points there at all. - PLindbergh31
I am pretty resigned to that fate. Wife will be all smiles during the playoffs...because they won't be on the TV. |

The higher the pick the more value to a top 4 D-man. I realize more will be added to the pot, but the higher the pick the more likely a team will deal. - jstross
Why trade the pick? If I had a top ten pick in this draft, the only way I move it is if I get a legit, no questions asked number one.
And if it's a top 3 pick, forget trading it at all. |

The fact that Laviolette stapled Hartnell to the bench either shows that:
a.) He's exerting control over the one lever he has (ice time) in motivating these guys.
b.) He's desperate and trying to show Holmgren/management he still has his hands on the wheel. - johndewar
One game we shall see, I think he has to be desparate. He's smart enough to know how the league works. I'm still trying to figure out if Lava in his previous stops has been able to develop young players on his watch. The closest I could think of is Cam Ward, but I thought he kind of sucked after the Cup victory. |

If they miss the playoffs this team is gonna get a severe makeover. So they might as well come away with a stud prospect. Who needs momentum into next season? That doesnt exist anyway. Just ask the Kings - FrankDrebbin
makeover, yes.
severe? I don't think so. At least, not as severe as the Richards/Carter trades. |

30 games into the season, one day at .500, zero 3 game winning streaks? Ummm... yeah frauds |

Why would they want to stay in Anaheim? That team blows, and it's a poophole of a city. What clowns they are. |

If that offseason set the bar for severe then I guess they will be mild makeovers forever |

I know you aren't an NBA fan, but I hope you don't think LeBron will win another championship before the Flyers get one..... Do you? |

i just don't think the few spot difference means stud v no stud. you aren't dealing with proven commodities in the draft. the jump isn't worth tanking the rest of the way, at the very least
and i think the devils run late in 2011 helped them last season |

That's great but this team doesn't have a playoff run in them. They are a mess 5 on 5. |

yeah ... well, depends on your definition of mild I suppose. A coaching change would be severe, but I don't think Homer is going to trade two of the top 6 forwards. |

Solid point, but what if Nashville falls out of playoff contention and values a top 5 pick more than 2 or 3 Flyers 1st rounders in the 20+ range? Would you trade a top 5 pick, a 2014 1st, Gus and Cousins for Weber? |

Is it really awful to get beaten 5-hole by a player who's unmarked in the slot? - Feanor
no. it was quick and pin-point perfect. awful defense by schenn. was it stoppable? yes, i suppose. but not weak or soft by any means. |

Classic Carle slapshot wraparound dump slowly getting to Bryz behind the net. - tangent_man
Despite his minutes Carle was next to useless for TB tonight. Soft play, turnovers, weak clearing attempts..on the plus side, a couple simple passes, a stretch pass attempt, a weak shot or two...practically all the other Tampa D men moved the puck better. Meh, defined...5.5 million well unspent. |

Im just saying tank by selling players. This will only help the makeover process |
