For starters, he is the SAME (frank)ING SIZE as Drouin, 5'11 178 lbs. MacKinnon is the player with all the hype surrounding him. This is all because he came out of the same hometown, midget team, and path as Sidney Crosby. Ever since he was 15 years old, he has been compared to Crosby because of this. - theblueandgold
Get the #3 overall pick. Draft Drouin.
Trade Miller for the #5 overall pick.
Trade Drouin for Miller.

Well you can draft Drouin and I will draft MAckinnon and I will be better then you. Hopefully if the Sabres had to make that choice they'd take Mackinnon. Drouin doe shave some sick hands though. |

That's probably what Ottawa said when they took He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named over Pronger #1. |

We need talented scoring wingers. We are short of that. Dont have much of that in our pipeline. We are stocked with centers. Grigorenko. Girgensons. Catenacci. Hodgson and Ennis.
Drouin would compliment those players and make them better. Who is MacKinnon going to play with?
You wouldnt make this team better drafting MacKinnon, who in my opinion isnt as talented as Drouin. |

I honestly see CBJ pulling that off (as long as they snap their points streak) by getting a top 3, choosing Drouin, then trading their NYR and LAK picks to get another top 5 to get MacKinnon. |

Depending what the return is, no one should be untouchable...
But I would like to keep and build around...
Foligno-Hodgson-Armia
Ennis-Grigorenko-Ott
Catenacci
Kaleta
Tropp
Ehrhoff, Myers, McNabb, McCabe, Weber(6-7 guy)
Makarov
Girgensons, Pysyk, Leduc, Flynn.... are guys I'm willing to trade in the right deal for sure... Not that I particularly dislike any of them, but I see a higher ceiling with the guys I've listed above, and if we want quality in return we are gonna have to expect to part with pieces we don't really want to give up
Hopefully pick in the top3
Hopefully trade for Bernier
Trade our "big3" for young NHLers that can play ASAP, I don't really want "prospects" or picks that could take years to be productive for us...
We need to "blow it up" but I want the rebuild to be on as fast a track as possible - jdfitz77

Drouin is quite the competitor and pretty strong for someone his size. Small but he wears his heart on his sleeve. While there may be no crosby in this draft Anyone of the guys slated to go in the top three are probably going to be franchise players. I'd even argue that Monahan/Barkov could be of that level as well. Getting anyone of these guys is a step in the right direction, which is all we should care about at this point. |

Yea I'm not sure I would do that either. I admit he's having a rough year in the AHL but the guy looks like Ryan Callahan/Dustin Brown 2.0. Isn't that the kind of guy that everyone here has been begging for all year long? |

In all seriousness, it reminds me a little bit of last year, with a strong top 3 (but no sure-fire superstars like Crosby/Stamkos) and a pretty solid field throughout the first round. If you need offense, you go for MacKinnon and Drouin. If you need defense or have a soul, you draft Jones. Luckily for the forwards, most NHL GMs traded their souls for 3rd round picks long ago. |
|
|
|
I think it's pretty simple, if we have the #1 pick we will take Jones. I think he's the best talent in the draft. I really do think Jones, MacKinnon and Drouin are extremely solid prospects that will help whoever they go to. What is scary to me is that this team/trade deadline/off season should go through the biggest roster change in Sabres history and we have none other than Regier in charge. In my opinion Miller or Pominville will more likely to be moved at the draft. |

Saskatoon goaltender Andrey Makarov made 39 saves Tuesday to guide the Blades to a 3-2 shootout victory over Edmonton. The 6-foot-1 backstop posted a 37-17-2-3 record, 2.62 GAA, and .919 save% en route to guiding the Blades to the East Division title and a second-place conference finish. The Blades begin the post-season at home on Thursday versus Medicine Hat.
From Sabres prospect update-thing. I like this. |

I am hoping that in the next few years......
Armia - Mackinnon - ??
Foligno - Grigorenko - ??
Girgensons - Hodgson - Flynn
Tropp - ?? - ??
tough to say on Grigorenko and Hodgson in a few years?
Myers - McNabb
Ehrhoff - McCabe
Psysk - ?? |
