And yet be mediocre for years to come. They ARE the problem with this team. Attitude, complacency, lack of fear for their jobs. You can keep interchanging the bottom 6 and bottom 4 pairings, and backup goalies all you want. They have done it since 07. It hasn't worked. They need huge changes, not just a new captain.

So by trading the big 3 and drafting the " savior" who ever he is and grabbing all these picks and icing a young team, that won't set us back another 3 years? stop please.

Is Vanek 26?
Well that's a fair trade future wise for u guys, and is a 100% win for us right now, but sorry we don't want Vaneks salary, and not sure he'd fit in our team... He'd be on our 2nd line and at wouldn't fly with him lol...

- FLYERSROCK!

I could see Philly making a move for Vanek, not necessarily for Couturier, but Philly has been one of the biggest "take on salary now and worry about it later" teams since the 2005 lockout. And they've turned out just fine all things considered.

You definitely can and should get more for those guys. The point, though, is that they need to be moved. 8 years of winning nothing with this group is too long.

In reply to your earlier post about the Buffalo News charging for online reads, the way to get around it is by going through the Sabres website.

According to Eklunds "rumblings" We could be trading Miller to Philly!

I'm not trying to pick a fight but you contiue to say its all about Championships. Philly hasnt won the cup since 74-75 so have things turned out just fine by?

No your right. Let's build around them. That's something they haven't tried before.

Ennis is a coverted winger not a true center and he should be put back there.
- buffalo 1

Ennis' numbers as a centre are far better than what he was doing as a winger.

It's not ideal, but they do have prices we can pick. Plus you got to admit it would be fun I watch. Particularly because if he plays like he does here, those fans will be all up in his poop.

I would argue both probably suck.IMO put him on the wing with a good center and leave him there for more then 20 games then see.

Girgensons you are out on already???

wow.

- JVince11

Not "out"
But I think it's more likely he's a 15goal scorer in the NHL than a 25 goal scorer
He's never even scored 25 in the USHL
So, if he's going to be "Gaustad 2.0" that's pretty good, all things considered... But if he's a piece I have to move to get someone that can help NOW... Then I'm ok with that too
Say Gigensons + for O'reilly... Or something like that?
That's a trade I'd do
Because for Girgensons to actually develop into a "scorer" in the NHL, as well as a solid defensive center, it's probably going to take a minimum of 3-4 years to get to the point where he's as productive as someone like O'reilly

Philly wheels and deals as much as anybody. At least the standard is there. They seem very good at identifying what's not working and addressing the issue. Granted, it's only half the battle, with the other half being identifying how to effectively fix it. However, the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one. The Flyers do that well more often than not. The Sabres don't, or at least they take way too long to do so.

I the Miller is more likely IMO. Vanek would play n the 2nd line here. You can't tell me he'd be fine with that lol.
