Im also good with any. Its the idea that you have to do what the other 28 teams do, TRY DIFFERENT poop WHEN OPTION 'A' ISN'T WORKING! - Buffalo--Sabres
I agree, bringing something new to the table is always nice to see. Any GM should be thankful they have so many good options, and then of course they should regret the fact that picking one won't be easy. |

Grigo can definetly play in the AHL once his junior season is officially over. Which I believe he needs. The team has way too much youth as it is at the center position, I think 1 whole year of Grigo developing in the A would be great for the organization.
On the coaching situation..... It all depends on the Sabres plan. If they want to go young next season and if they get a top 3 pick, I keep Rolston. Let him continue to teach. If they want to get vets, let kids develop I'd grab an experienced coach that has credibility.
Last night Hodgson, Ennis and Ott lead that team. If the Sabres want to upgrade the center position they should move Ennis to wing. I don't trade him so we get a new center. Ennis is awesome and loves the game. He drives harder to the net than most of out lame soft over paid vets. |

I disagree, I think Roy is a better candidate to teach youngsters than Rolo to be honest.

Disagree. Rolston was a star coming through the USA development program. I don't dislike Roy at all I'm sure they both are great teachers. Rolston is extrmely smart and has won at every level.
I'm good with either guy. But don't judge Rolston just on this season. He came into a terrible situation and this team hasn't been in the right mind set for years. Rolston may not be as agressive as Roy but being level headed and smart isn't a bad thing. Just take a look at his roster decisions. He gets a lot out of "his guys". |

Saying Rolston doesn't have a sack isn't fair. I love Lindy Ruff and thought he was tough, but he couldn't make the tough decisions on this team too often. Rolston put Stafford on the 4th line with Hecht. He rewards effort and smart players.
Look what Rolston has done with Porter, Flynn, Hodgson, and even Pysyk. Porter should have been up all season. He has played his roll. Giving Foligno less minutes is also the right move. I love Foligno and I want him to be like his Dad just as much as everyone. But Foligno needs tough love right now and good coaching. He needs to play consistant and does not deserve top 6 minutes. |

There is enough evidence over the last couple years that this franchise lost its way when it started to part way with the heart and soul of the team. It started with McKee and hit rock bottom when we lost Drury and Briere. You can eventually replace goals and assists but you can't replace or create heart and leadership. Vanek is not a leader, Stafford is not a leader, Hecht is not a leader and certainly isn't Jason Poms. I'm sorry - when the Sabres start putting leaders in leadership positions - then maybe we can head in the right dorection. Every time this team faces adversity or a challenge they crumble. This weekend proved that - 3 goals in the second period in both games. Do you think of Capitan or Assistant Capitans hold any wait in a locker room? It doesn't show on the ice.
With regards to the bottom of the league in face offs and power play %, tell me something new. We say the same thing every year. I think the face off thing is the biggest issue. You lose draws on the power play - you are guaranteed 15-20 seconds off that power play right off the bat. With the way we enter the zone and forecheck, we can't get sh$t started. It is a vicious circle. This I hold directly on the GM for not addressing.
What happened to making a trade in the mid season to help this team out? Again - another issue with our GM - unable to react to the team. You get rid of Timmy C - You get rid of the Goose - you get rid of Roy... the results are the same (actually worse this year).
My fear is that you have a deadman walking in our front office - this is the most important time in our team's history. You have an opportunity to shed yourself of loser player and gain assets. I'm not sure I would trust Darcy with that- he did a great job with TJ this weekend. |
