If you can get a 1st for Gaustad in this league, you can get a 1st for Stafford. |

Honestly probably not because of the Salary the team is on the hook for. Gaustad played a role above average. Stafford is getting payed to score which he can't do on a regular basis and 4 million a year for 2 more years is probably not too encouraging. |

Saying Rolston doesn't have a sack isn't fair. I love Lindy Ruff and thought he was tough, but he couldn't make the tough decisions on this team too often. Rolston put Stafford on the 4th line with Hecht. He rewards effort and smart players.
Look what Rolston has done with Porter, Flynn, Hodgson, and even Pysyk. Porter should have been up all season. He has played his roll. Giving Foligno less minutes is also the right move. I love Foligno and I want him to be like his Dad just as much as everyone. But Foligno needs tough love right now and good coaching. He needs to play consistant and does not deserve top 6 minutes. - Morskdog89
The guy is uninspiring to say the least. Look what he's done with Porter? Excuse me if I'm unimpressed that he got a career 4th liner to play like a below average 3rd liner. Under your thinking, can we also blame him for Vanek and Pommers hitting a wall since his hiring? This team still panics when the slightest thing goes wrong... But don't critique the coach, he got Porter to play well??? Expectations continue to be so low around here, it's painful. |

Disagree. Rolston was a star coming through the USA development program. I don't dislike Roy at all I'm sure they both are great teachers. Rolston is extrmely smart and has won at every level.
I'm good with either guy. But don't judge Rolston just on this season. He came into a terrible situation and this team hasn't been in the right mind set for years. Rolston may not be as agressive as Roy but being level headed and smart isn't a bad thing. Just take a look at his roster decisions. He gets a lot out of "his guys". - Morskdog89
Im not going to hate on Rolston. He's a decent hockey coach and has already made some roster moves within his power that helped the team a little. But this is the big league. The big show. Moral victories and "getting the most out of his guys" may not be good enough.
However the Sabres as an organization are at a serious crossroads(IMO). The next set of moves they make are critical. They need a GM who is focused and a big time coach. They also have bog looming decisions with the top 3 and they need to nail these decisions. |

LOL that is too hard naming prospects like that down the pipeline.
But I'd keep Vanek, Ott, Hodgson, Ennis. Ehrhoff needs the right partner, and Myers won't be traded. I like Pysyk, he looked pretty confident out there besides one play where he got beat. I keep McNabb and McCabe too. Next year I'd let Armia, Grigo and Girgensons have a full season in the A. If we get that top 3 pick, he would be untouchable too. I wouldn't get rid of Foligno but he has to mature and find a consistant game. We are not buying out Leino, and I think if he has the right linemates, he might be what we signed him for because I think he has been totally mismanaged. |

I didn't just use Porter as an example. Are you kidding me about expectations??? This team started the season with a 22 year old 21 year old and an 18 year old as your top 3 centers. Just because the Sabres did not tell you they are slightly in a rebuild isn;t my fault you had high expectations. They need to sell tickets.
I'm sure upper management planned on sneaking into the playoffs as the best cased scenario but I'm not the one thinking this team was going to be great this year. It is full of kids and the wrong mix of vets. |

Trading Vanek is the quickest way to get this team better fast and rid the GM of a expensive contract issue. |

Wouldn't it be nice to acquire the assets to have a Canucks draft circa 1999. Mackinnon AND Drouin.. Don't ask me how to get that second top 5 pick, but it could be done... We'd obviously have to acquire a few more 1st's this year.. |

YES. Regardless of how much "better" he has played as of late, that salary has to go. He's a 1.75 Mil player getting 4 Mill. |

You can rip me all you want about the coach and I'm sure you have done your research on his career, but Rolston is not going to fix Pommer and Vanek. No one will. They need to be surrounded by winners, which this team and 0 Stanley Cup winners on the roster. It's a joke. Expectations were way too high for this season, not too mention after a lockout, nobody can gage exactly what teams will be in the best shape and play the best. The post lockout Sabres take for example, the rest of the league preidicted that team to be a bottom feeder and they dominated. Did you think Montreal was going to have 5 regulation losses at this time??? I mean come on. This team does not have the right vets. It's time to actually fully rebuild and bring in a coach that can teach them. If it's not rolston bring in someone similar, someone that has good experience as a developer. |

Excuse me, Flynn has played well, and Pysyk is on his way to the HOF.. What I'm saying is that he got 3rd and 4th line players to play better.. who cares. Is that what we need? More average players playing average? Continue making excuses for this organization, and they will continue putting out a below average product... |

If we get Drouin and MacKinnon I will... you know what it's not even worth trying to come up with something silly because it will never happen. |
