It's pointless to delve too far into, but I'd bet if Myers played in the A for a few years, his confidence would be higher, and his motivation would be higher. He's had everything handed to him on a silver platter. Permanent roster spot at 18-19, major long term contract at 22-23. Never had to work for any of it at this level.

IDK, there are guys like Vanek that plays whenever he can, and there are guys like 44 and 55, from what Ive heard, wont play through a hang nail.

Vanek is a tough dude, no doubt. But at a certain point your hurting the team. If it's that bad with the way he's played the past couple games, then let it heal

And Myers produces. This is his worst year and he still is tied for the team lead in defensive goals. This might be the first year he's a minus player. People act like he's a 7th defenseman making 10 million a year.

He's not hopeless, he just gets paid 1D money, and has played like a 6-7 D. He's been in the league for a few years, so the 'he's just young and inexperienced' excuse doesn't float anymore.

Different role from rookie to his 3rd season. He was handed the shutdown role. He's not ready. He's overpaid and people are pissed. I get it. He has the ability to turn it around

Beyond the numbers, have you watched him play? It's not like he's been average and overpaid, he's been by FAR the worst defenseman this season, on one of the worst defensive teams in hockey right now. The turnovers have been out of control. Physicality non existent. Offensive abilities non existent. I'm shocked that you're even arguing in favor of him.

Also, just for the record, Suter is a real stay at home guy. Myers is supposed to be an offensive defenseman. Two different styles of play entirely.

Because this year has been horrible for most of the team. He deserves a lot of criticism but some people are just over the top to the point where they want him to fail.
