Because he moves his feet every shift. Because he takes the opposing players off their games. Because he plays with heart and on the edge, exactly like I hope our young guys start to. Or are you ok with "Top 6" role models like Stafford? Finesse players like Pommer?

I don't think we should build the team around him, but man, he does his agitator job better than almost anyone in the league. Keep that much heart on this team. THAT'S what's lacking here.

- BuffaJoe

Exactly! I mean, just look at Kovalchuk a few weeks back. He definitely serves his purpose. Doesn't matter right now unfortunately, seeing that our pp isn't worth a damn.

there was no penalty, no suspension...how cheat could it be?

Simmonds is a great player, not a goon.

Both solid players like them both a lot but if I had to pick I'd take Simmonds he's younger.

Actually, that was Kaleta chirping Kovy a few weeks ago, IIRC. But the point remains. Last night, as poopty as the team was as a whole, Ott suckered that rookie Oleksy into taking a dumb penalty, and took Ovi off the ice when he was killing us.

It doesn't even bother me that he took that dumb call himself at the end of the game, does anyone really think we were about to overcome a 2 goal deficit? Ott was effective again last night. Again, one of the ONLY players that showed up.

Again I don't want to trade everyone for peanuts. But guys need to be moved, and In my opinion not just Stafford, Myers, and Leopold. They need to make some serious moves to shake things up

I agree with you there, they need to make multiple moves and not just smaller type deals but Darcy is scared to death to pull the trigger on big moves.

IMO if you move any of the big 3 you should take the other team to the bank. Get all you can from them because Darcy holds the cards, the Nash situation was different our guys have less years remaining. Teams will pay if they really want to resign them, not saying I would move them.

To me, I think Pominville is the obvious choice. Then we can avoid "ripping the C off his jersey," which for some reason is something it seems a lot of people are afraid of doing.

I think so too, IMO I'd move 29 and 30 and try to keep 26.
