I think the C matters a lot when we have as young a team as we do. Our young guys are learning the wrong way to play hockey from a softie like Pommer. I don't think Ovi should be a captain either, but he's at least the hands down best player on the Caps. I don't really like how the Caps are built either, though, and like the Sabres, I don't see a visible second option.

He completely falls off after being a superhuman the first 11 games. He's completely lost his touch from earlier this year, injury or not this is the 4th season in a row he's been a non factor for good portions of a season

No team covers players like Pommer and Hodgson the same way as Vanek, because they're not the same threat. He gets beat on every year, because he's almost alone every year.

IDK, there are guys like Vanek that plays whenever he can, and there are guys like 44 and 55, from what Ive heard, wont play through a hang nail.
