I think the moment Howie said he's been compared to Kasparitis it probably got all of our attention. For the rest of the game the kid played some solid physical defense. We REALLY need a player like that. |

So the Ducks Ink Corey Perry to 8 years @ $69 million. Between he and Getzlaf, thats $135 million on two players over 8 years. Roughly $17 million per year on the two of them. WOW. - keaner17
Can you imagine how much Facades will make the next contract? |

Yep. That's when I started paying attention and for once Howie was right. He was like a young kasparitis |

Fortunately I don't think the Flyers will be a problem. They're simply not the same team they've been over the last three years. As for Boston and Pittsburgh, I'll wait and see. Boston owns us physically so I definitely don't like that matchup but we did show early on that we were completely capable of playing good lockdown hockey on Pittsburgh.
I don't think we're built to last in the playoffs at this point, but our focus should be more on just getting there and giving guys like Tavares, Hamonic, Grabs, Matrin and Cizikas the experience of a playoff series. - keaner17
If that holds true against Boston, you might be in for a tough game tonight, the Sens play just as physical a brand of hockey as the Bruins do with this lunchpail group we're currently rocking. |

Charles is acting like someone who has lost hundreds of millions of dollars and now knows that in two years the team will suddenly be profitable. If you're business is suffering and losing money but you know a new highway will bring an influx of customers in two years making it a hotseat, do you hire new employees now? Or do you wait until that moment. He's minimizing losses until it's safe to spend again. He said himself three years ago, the team is broke but in 2015 our light at the end of the tunnel is reality.
As for adding pieces, I think if we're not taking on big payroll, they'll look around but I don't expect much. Everything still seems focused on the future, not the present. - keaner17

Generally agree, but this is a Jack Capuano coached team. It seems like there have been quite a few games over the last couple of years we thought they'd come out flying for only to see them sleepwalk through the game.
This is the time for some of the teams leaders to step up and get these guys going. - keaner17
We can't put it all on the coach. These are professional hockey players and they need to step it up. I think you're correct it's the leadership on the ice that will make a difference. I really believe Nabakov has made a bit of difference. I remember one of the games when the Islanders gave up a early lead by2 goals. During commercial time out Nabakov was very vocal at the bench. The islanders game back and won that game. I think he's been a leader on this team you can tell by his interviews. We need a couple more guys like him. |

Did Howie mention that... Cool.
I watched the game on another feed.
Then watched the game last night in Tampa against the Flyers.
This guy is built like a tank...
They were saying last night on TSN that this guy is the most hated in every league he has played in.

They may TRY to play just as physical but with guys like Chara and Lucic, I don't think Boston can be matched in the NHL for physicality. In additon, they have a nice mix of talent to go with it. |
