LOL...but 2015 has been the answer for a couple of years. Of course the answer isn't easier to swallow next year either, but it's still the same. - keaner17
It's not an answer unless all of these wonderful things happen. |

Yes he was (sorry Kasper). But I'll always remember that laser shot from St. Louis highlighting DP's technical flaw. It's why I think Sudsi was a terrible goaltender coach and could amost be as responsible for ruining DP as much as DP himself.
As for Nolan, he was one of the best motivators in the game, but not a good X's and O's guy. Were it not for Hasek's unbelievable goaltending during his stay in Buffalo, Nolan's career may have been even more short. There's something to be said about why NO NHL team has even talked to him since. - keaner17

I'd do it...not the biggest fan of Setoguchi, but that'd be pretty good value for KO, imo. |

The best thing Dunham did for this team was having his legs seize up in '07, allowing Dubi to come in and rescue the season. Dunham was an absolute disaster after DP went down. |

I will say he was a techincally sound goaltender so he may be a decent coach. Sudsi was awful. I remember reading an article on his approach to coaching where it said he coached DP to 'stay down on the ice because he felt most goals were scored when a goaltender transitioned from the ice back to his stance'. I'm a bit of a purist since I preferred standup style and then hybrid after that so the idea of telling an undersized goaltender to never recover his stance was just bad advice (IMO).
I think to a point DP was probably uncoachable, but I don't think Sudsi was going to help much. It's a shame we couldn't get Vanbiesbrouk to coach him after his retirement. |

im not directing this at you, but when was the last time a game wasnt important? the past 10 games everyone has been saying "Tonights game will tell me if they are for real" then they win/get a point and the same comment is recycled for the next game....
when are people going to believe this team can do it?...whether they get into the playoffs or not is a different story...i think its clear that this years islanders team can compete - LetsGoIsles
if "it" is making the playoffs, then nobody will think they can do it until they get there. If "it" is being competitive in a game that means something, then I think everyone agrees they can be, but they haven't proven they can be competitive and win big games consistently. That remains to be seen. |

I wouldn't be opposed to this. I'd definitely be a lot higher on guys like Coyle or Bouchard, but there's no way they give us either of them for Okposo, and I don't think Clutterbuck helps us. We need a second liner that can score more than 3 goddamn goals.

REALLY?!?!?!?!
The flyers is the team taht you're going to include with pitt and boston as the "big boys" in the eastern conference?
you do realize that they're in 12th place, 2 points behind your team. they're a trainwreck, and in NO WAY are an elite team in the east. - sensarmy_11
Well, they did beat the s**t out of the Isles 7-0 earlier this year and have dominated the Isles for the better part of the past few years. That's why most Isles fans consider them "elite". That and because the Flyers have been a good team the past few seasons. |
