So draft two more forwards while keeping those that we have? Sorry am I missing something? Just curious - JoeRussomanno
Well the whole plan involves dumping briere any way possible, drafting one of drouin or mackinnon, trading either schenn or couts + for a 1 dman. Like I said dependant on a high pick. |

Its very strange for me watching this team. When they play pitt at least theyre up for the game. Play nasty, fast, back and forth hockey. Sure there is still no D to be seen anywhere but on O they look deadly against us. Watched a couple of philly games in the last week or two against random teams and all I can say is wow. It doesnt look like the same team out there at all. Maybe they should make every team wear pens jerseys against them, couldnt hurt at this point - StabMastaArson
The problem is that back and forth play doesnt work. The players get jacked up for the Pens games.. the Pens get jacked up for the Flyers games.. and both team go out and try to kill each other. Its crazy entertaining... Its a very high risk/ high reward way to play... Its not working... and needs to change. |

the only run this team is going on is down a flight of stairs into the basement where they belong. the switch they've flipped on and off over the last few years has blown at the breaker box. - hammarby31
I always though of it more as a dimmer and the lighting was never great anyway. |

WTF? Too one dimensional he is? Are you Yoda?
Green has dealt with a series of injuries that have limited him, greatly. Also Subban is better defensively than Green ever was. - Jsaquella
I think if you guys out some more work into this, his intelligence level should amplify your humor, kinda like Lyle and hardy. |
|
|
|
Subban is a 1-2 guy, and could be a star level player. He's not a 3-4, only a moron that talks smack and doesn't know other teams besides his own would think that PK Subban is a 3-4 defenseman.
So yes, you don't know Richard about hockey and you're a pretty bad troll. No humor, no creativity and no knowledge. - Jsaquella
Well, I guess that settles that. |

This is the year those NMC's that Homer thought had to be in every contract really hurt us....Its nice that every trade of a veteran has to be ok'ed by the player...Also I dont want to fire Lavy....He wasnt the one who put this team together Homer did....I write this travesty off as a mulligan....Lavy has no practice time to teach a young group of forwards and an obviously slow defense...sorry cant blame coach for this....not entirely at least - nonpoint22
Lava is going to run his style no matter what. This is basically the same team as last year. They ask way too much of grossman and L schenn |

Dude, you really need to stop and listen to what #87 and #71 R Hockey has to say.
He brings a certain 16 year old, homoerotic fanboy worship perspective that is sorely needed around here.
The Penguins are dreamy. So is One Direction, but that's a whole 'nother story.
His team won a cup this decade. Yours hasn't. Part of the Penguins' success is directly attributable to his mom buying him a Pens jersey at Walmart.
He's better than you.
He's better than all of us. - Atomic Wedgie

Nobody's blaming the coach entirely.
This team has more talent than several teams that are ahead of it in the standings. This team is not that bad on paper, but it plays undisciplined hockey. Laviolette has been unable to instill that discipline into them. |

I agree with you but he's right. The Flyers simply don't play with the emotion they show against Pittsburgh against anyone else. Whether it's a defense-less game or not. I've noticed the same thing on many occasions. |

Wait.. Didnt Lavy have this same team last season.. with the same group of young forwards? The whole "short season, no practice" shtick has gotta end. The same problems have been here since he started... |

I have a really bad cold and I'm having issues with my medicine. I've had about 4 hours of sleep the last 24-48 hours, so I'm testy and not on my game. |

I wasn't even being sarcastic, it's like sideshow bob and crusty the clown. A pitcher throwing meatballs to a 40 homerun guy. But since you are off your game that might explain my thinking it needs more work, carry on.
Edit: hope you feel better tho |

Oh absolutely, although that isnt unusual to me. Teams get jacked up to play certain teams all the time.. The Flyers problem is that they seriously lack swagger.
Prime example.. Ryan Carter throws a dirty knee to knee last week and flips Rinaldo. Not a single player goes to his defense.
No had that been the Pens.. and Neal or Cooke or BATFACE or, whoever... there would have been mayhem. They seem to lack that piss and vinegar that is needed. |

We were going to lose them any ways why not get Kris Beech and Ross Lupaschuk for them yeah thats right... - nbartley9
It's more than you get back for them. It's also lowering the talent level to the equivalent of an AHL team. That helps to gather high picks (5 straight top-5 picks among which 4 were top-3 picks).
Pens 2002-2006 draft position:
2002 - 5th overall
2003 - 1st overall
2004 - 2nd overall
2005 - 1st overall
2006 - 2nd overall
Any team (except maybe the Islanders) drafting that high during those years would have an equally impressivbe team.

Lupaschuck was never given a chance to display his god given talent. - canadianpenfan
sad part is i remember creating Lupaschuck and Orpik in my playstation games because i was so excited about them coming to the big club i couldnt wait. One guy didnt pan out.
I know that FLyers fans could careless hearing this from me but i just do not see the Flyers missing the playoffs this year, I see a rematch from last year as a #2 vs #7 Ottawa and Toronto are not going to hold out all season. |

The games against the Pens are filled with hate and both teams get riled and play undisciplined hockey. The Flyers are like the Harlem Globetrotters going up against a NBA team in that regard. If they get the NBA team off it's game and playing undisciplined, they can murder them.
But if that NBA team stays disciplined, plays smart and waits for the mistakes that naturally come with an over aggressive team, they'll destroy them.
That's what the Flyers do against the Devils, Rangers and Bruins. The other team stays disciplined and waits, they Flyers get overaggressive and the other team pounces. |

If the Flyers get the 10th-13th pick, what do you guys think of Anthony Mantha? 6'3" 200 lbs forward, has 50 goals in the Q this year. I know he's not a dman but we're talking about the Flyers here. |
