Yeah, a horse cart and a Ferrari have some fundamentals in common, but the similarities kind of end there.
- Tomahawk

That would be relevant if the disucssion was about horse cart;s and Ferrari's.

You kidding me? This is going to be the worst FA in years. And some of the decent guys will be resigned before July anyway. Its going to be a snoozefest.

after eliciting a negative response from my ill advised use of crack cocaine joke last night I'm trying to be nice and respectful to those I disagree with, not that I disagree with you

I just read a Matt Read to Calgary rumour, plus extras and involving j-Bo. I'm a big Matt Read fan but i would be interested in a deal such as this.

St. Louis is the place to watch but in regards to RFAs. Pietrangelo, Stewart, Berglund, Cole, Russell, Shattenkirk, Allen all RFAs.

Everyone is in love with Andrej Sustr.
- NickTheKid87

"For as sought-after as Sustr has been, he also comes with a pretty high amount of risk as a prospect. Sustr has very alluring size at 6'8" but still has a lot of work to do to become an NHL-caliber skater, and for a player of his size, he's not all that physical. He does, however, have remarkably soft hands for a player of his size, and is an excellent passer."

Not going to fix the problems immediately with this guy.
Sign him, sure why not, but don't expect a miracle.

I think what he meant was he would like specifics to support your statement not witty semantics. I'm kinda curious to see what the both of you have to say on this topic. It's rather interesting if I do say so myself.

I just don't want J-Bo's huge contract. If he was making $4 million a year, I'd be fine but he's making $6.8 million.

I would sign him for depth only. I don't expect him to be ready for another 3-5 years.

Not at all. The skill, and speed, and how the players have evolved, really is completely different then talking about Hockey systems.

Teams still play a neutral zone trap that's been around for 50 years. Regardless of how the players have evolved.

It would be nice to get Elias. God knows he's killed us too many times to count.
I'd also like to bring Jagr back. But those won't be the moves to get us the Cup. Clarkson will be overpaid by someone (that could be Homer's cue).
Only player I'd really like them to get would be Scuderi. Not a very strong top-line class.

how would you feel if we acquired one or both of Jarome Iginla and Brenden Morrow for starters?
both are captains. both would be awesome Flyers

There will be compliance buy-out period, too, so there may be some name players in the UFA pool when all is said and done (I'm looking at you, Briere).

Morrow would be a depth guy at this point and Iginla will cost way too much and both are old anyway.

If they're bought out than they obviously aren't that great. A name or two maybe but names don't make you any more talented.
