Also, call me insane....
But Rinaldo didn't seem too out of place on a line with Giroux and Voracek. Of course, those two could make a scarecrow look like an all-star. It would have been crazy if that line scored--as they almost did twice. - KGBflyers10
I know Hartnell's been hurt, but he has 5 points in 14 games and hasn't really merited being on that top line with his recent play.
Whether or not it took a ill timed penalty or not, I was glad to see Hartnell off that line. |

I actually tend to agree. The organization is clearly aware of the math involved and probability of making the playoffs this year with the amount of games left, and it would seem that they also see this and maybe realize a trade wouldn't do anything to rectify this season. - Flyers_V88
Logic suggests they would stand pat, but with this team you can't be absolutely certain until the deadline is a few hours past. |

Luke Schenn also has a modified NTC only eligible in 2015-16 although his contract was sign with the Leafs. - NickTheKid87
Yeah, but it's not active yet and I'm not too interested in trading Schenn |

I have no doubt that the coaching staff believes in what they are doing and will work hard.
It's a question of whether or not this group of players believes in what the coaching staff is telling them. - johndewar
Agreed. |

Hartnell has decided to go back to his knucklehead form. Taking stupid, selfish penalties, being all over the place... except where he should be.. and not producing a lick offensively... - jak521
The man has only broken 50 points 2x in 6 years and one of those was his contract year. I'm not sure why everyone expects him to produce consistantly except for Holmgren |

They actually don't have that many. Briere, Timonen and Bryz have NMCs. Hartnell has a NTC. Fedotenko, Coburn and Grossmann have modified NTC, which probably means they won't go to Edmonton.
Most of the guys I'd be looking to move with a clause would probably waive it to go elsewhere.
I've said it before, but I'd be shopping Briere, Gagne and Fedotenko like a madman. I'd be listening to offers for Hartnell, Talbot, Meszaros and Coburn.
I'd tell Briere that he can talk to interested teams and see what accommodations they would make(i.e. agreeing to buy out the last two years of his deal or a promise to honor the NMC after the trade). I'd tell Gagne I'd be interested in re-signing him in the summer.
Load up on a few picks and see what happens in the summer. - Jsaquella
If you peruse that list nick provided I'd say you're wrong about the quantity, otherwise yea on everything else, but can't we keep Hartnell? I just think he's a real flyer.

Same. Just thought I'd throw it out there as it is included in my calculations of 9 NMC/NTC for the Flyers. |

They were traded before they kicked in... and a team cannot be forced to take on a NMC if I remember correctly. - jak521
Yep, a new team has to agree to accept a clause once it is waived. |

At least we can end the Corey Perry talk. BTW, that $8.625M cap hit could look real ugly in a few years if he starts to physically break down in his early 30s the way many power forwards do. - bmeltzer
their top 5 salaries equal approx 30 million. eeekk. I know Perry has a nice resume with a Stanley cup and a hart trophy and he had tons of leverage being a UFA but man, 8.625? |

I prefer to keep him, but If I got a good enough offer, I'd be willing to move him. I like Talbot, too, but if I can get a good return at the TDL, I'm not against moving him. |

Other teams have to be willing to trade. Right now there is only 2 or 3 teams that are really out of it. Even the Flyers aren't actually "dead". After this week they will actually have games in hand on other teams.
But they're toast. They don't have the discipline to save the season now. - Jsaquella
I still think a trade could happen, but at this point I feel like Snider would be pushing for some kind of big acquisition for beyond this season rather than just a rental. I could see a trade sending some young players for a JBo or a Yandle. |

He is practically a sure fire 25 goal, 20 assist power forward who can produce more in spurts.. I dont wanna trade him (all though Id be open to anything), and I do believe he can get back to form, but right now he is just playing stupid hockey. |

it's over. this team blows.
lost board battle with 2 flyers down low in the corner set up the point shot for the game winning goal. no surprise there.
the final 2:30 were about as inept as we've seen them all season. timonen, looked particularly bad, losing the puck in his feet, spinning around without a clue, losing it, and then trying to freeze the puck against the boards in their own zone after that incident in the dying seconds only to lose it and have it end up in the empty net.
save for a few players, another pathetic effort, in a totally winnable game. i can't wait for this season to end. each game is worse than the last.

I think he was probably upset and emotional about it. He's been demoted before and it lit a fire for him. Perhaps this will have a similar effect. He should have been stapled to the bench last night, because he played stupid all night. - Jsaquella
Laviolette during his interview looked like he wanted to jump out of his skin. He definitely did not want to answer any questions about Hartnell. I thought maybe he'd have a meltdown but he made it off camera before blowing up. |

with their first round pick the flyers draft rasmus ristolainen.the flyers will pick between 8-12 if they go with a d man this is probably their guy |

Oh allright! Pfft everyone always wants to move my favorite players, first tocchet, the brind'amour now Hartnell couldn't even get a full season out of tostito cause he scored two goals to win a game for us
But seriously as attached as I get to players I know they are all expendable for the right price |

Pencil him in for 25 goals a year, great locker room guy, gritty, physical. As long as he isn't taking bad penalties, he's a very valuable player.
His PIMs per game is double what it was last year. That's what hurts. |

I agree with the sentiment that Sbisa is a tweener. Decent in his own end and decent offensively. Doesn't excel in one particular area. Basically a more talented, defenseman version of Andreas Nodl. #3 or 4 dman but not a top pairing guy. |
