I'm trying to think of a team that is good that could use an upgrade on the blueline. Thing is the good teams have 4 dmen all better than Coburn, he makes a lot of coin for someone to put on their third pairing. - PLindbergh31
Teams are always looking. Then a bidding war could start for his services. Detroit could use him no doubt about it. |

He's playing terrible. He is still our 2nd best defenseman. (Mez close when healthy) He will bring in a haul. - Just5
If Coburn can bring back a first round pick, I would look long and hard at that. |

I went back and looked at deadline deals last season and no doubt Coburn would fetch at least a 1st rounder for a team in the hunt or playoff bound. Not saying I would trade Coburn but he would definitely get a good return.

Detroit is interesting. That could be possible. They have a lot of injuries. |

Ottawa could use him, Marc Methot joined the injured list tonight. |

That pick would likely have to be a first. And you know that if you want a team's top young defenseman, they're going to be asking for B Schenn or Couturier in return. - MJL
Some of the players I mentioned are not the "top" young defenseman on their teams and their team may want a more experienced player for a playoff run (STL/ANA/MTL). I don't think all of those players mentioned would require Coburn and a 1st. |

There are plenty of teams out there. I just think its an option the Flyers should think about this year at the deadline. If they dont like what is offered then dont accept. |

Yeah, that's another good example. Players keep dropping like flies, and the points keep piling up. Those things aren't usually part and parcel of one another. |

There will be teams lined up for his services. All offering their 1st. So then you get a 3rd as well |

If Paul Gaustad was able to bring back a 1st rounder, Coburn should be able to as well. |

So if the Flyers can get a 1st rd pick for Coburn they should be able to figure out a way to get Weber, even with an overpay
Flyers 1st (lottery pick)
1st Obtained for Coburn
2014 1st
Cousins
picks we get for Gagne, Briere, Feds, Knuble |

I think the Weber ship has sailed. If Nashville did make Weber available, I'm sure there are hard feelings from the offer sheet, and they would move him elsewhere. |

I agree I think the Flyers would get at least a 1st and probably a roster player or prospect...I know fans on here arent to high on him but the Flyers arent the only team in need of D help especially come playoff time. |

That's less than they could have gotten had they just refused to match the offer sheet-and it comes after spending $26mm on him. |

What issue, Coburn? How is he really damn predictable when you say we can't know what he'll give you any given game?
But f'real, I really don't care what "many posters" (half of which were alternate accounts) say. Except Butsy, he's p cool. I don't understand being all upset about 'debating' on one hand, then on the other implying anybody wants us to all 'praise all the flyers and something about Lavi's goldfish'. I'm getting mixed signals, do you or do you not want debate? - BulliesPhan87
Butsy and rockychocbill were the two main I was talking about.
Its not the debating that is the main issue its the constant looking for debates, finding the smallest details and just looking to argue. This board used to have a much lighter tone, and not constantly be filled with debates that revolve around one person.

He seems different this year in Nasvhille.
That fire I saw in him in past seasons doesnt seem to be there as much. |

Yes. The team D is off the hook in C-bus. 95 Devil-like. Holding teams to 12 shots and poop. |

Do you think he wanted to play here or he signed the offer sheet b/c he was getting paid.
Do you think he wanted to leave Nashville? |

Yep Quincey brought back a 1st +
Grossman a 2,3
Oduya 2,3 (wanted flyers to get)
I also mentioned I'd do Quincey straight up for coburn. Don't think they'd have interest |

isn't that second $13 million dollar bonus due before the date he's eligible to be traded? he's going nowhere...they're not paying him $27 mil for one (shortened) season |

Can't believe they have more points than the Flyers.
Who plays on there blueline? |
