Pencil him in for 25 goals a year, great locker room guy, gritty, physical. As long as he isn't taking bad penalties, he's a very valuable player.
His PIMs per game is double what it was last year. That's what hurts. - NickTheKid87
I thought Jody Shelley was our lockerroom guy. If Hartnell's the lockerroom guy what are the Flyers paying Shelley for? |

I agree with the sentiment that Sbisa is a tweener. Decent in his own end and decent offensively. Doesn't excel in one particular area. Basically a more talented, defenseman version of Andreas Nodl. #3 or 4 dman but not a top pairing guy. - NickTheKid87
Just sayin why trade for ryan when you can sign him for free.
If you are going to make a trade, and you are building for next year, then trade for something that isn't available on the FA market in July. |

It takes away from his play... when he gets into that habit.. he stops playing smart hockey.. he looks for who he is going to go after and loses sight of what he needs to/ should be doing. |

He is practically a sure fire 25 goal, 20 assist power forward who can produce more in spurts.. I dont wanna trade him (all though Id be open to anything), and I do believe he can get back to form, but right now he is just playing stupid hockey. - jak521
I'm not gonna lie when he pounded the day lights out of Sean Avery that made my day. Also his goal in the finals when I think it was Brouwer? Hacked him in the ankle, he picks himself up off the ice and scores a goal, that was when I went all in with him. Oh yea and up until this year, he only missed like three games as a flyer |

I've been trying to figure that out for 3 years now.
Hartnell would still be valuable even if he wasn't a "locker room guy" though. |

I disagree.. Easily his best game, and shifts, of the year were his first game back from the foot injury. Parked his ass in front of the net and went to work... since then.. IDK. - jak521

His silly play has really just been par for the course this season. Nothing's going right for anybody really. |

Thought that was this summer that he was free.
Well then, trade for his 5.1M ass.
Anaheim needs centers, send Danny. |

As a Pens fan like I say everyday I hate everything that has to do with the Flyers, but I want the Flyers in the playoffs. As a matter of fact i want to play them in the playoffs, their is nothing like it. What do you guys feel your team is missing to get over the playoff hump, coaching? It would be infuriating to me to have the team you guys have and have them not win. |

with their first round pick the flyers draft rasmus ristolainen.the flyers will pick between 8-12 if they go with a d man this is probably their guy - richiewinthecup
If they get him it's a shame that Kimmo would probably be retired before he made his NHL debut. He would be the perfect mentor for a young Finnish defenseman. |

1st off, time to fire Lavy, at this point they'd be doing the poor guy a favor, he looked like an inmate on death row last night!
Give the job to Terry Murray on an interim basis and make the final decision on a new coach at the end of the season. At least Murray will start getting these guys to play positionally sound hockey, and if they don't he WILL bench them.
Regarding the lines, and barring any trades, I would go with the following next game:
1. Talbot-Giroux-Voracek
Talbot earned it last night, and Hartnell has just been awful
2. Gagne-Schenn-Simmonds
Schenn and Simmonds will benefit playing with a smart vet like Gagne
3. Hartnell-Couturier-Read
Read and Couturier have had good chemistry in the past, and maybe this
wakes Hartnell up.
4. Fedotenko-Wellwood-Rinaldo
YOu can replace Wellwood on this line when Harry Z's suspension ends and once they inevitably trade Fedotenko, you can pop McGinn into his spot.
You may have noticed some guy named Briere missing from this lineup. It's time for Holmgren to sit him down and give him 2 options. A. Give me a list of 10-12 teams you would be willing to be traded to, and we will try our best to move you to a contender of your choice or B. enjoy the press box and you'll get your buyout check in June. As lousy as Briere has played, his track record in the playoffs will still probably get some GM to give up a 2nd for him, so lets get it done.
Now onto the D.
Coburn is a mess right now. However there are playoff teams out there such as Detroit that are all but desperate for a defenseman or 2. I'd package Coburn with our 3rd round pick and try to get a 1st from a contender for him.
If they can do that I'd finish the season with the following pairs
Timonen-Schenn
Grossman-Mezaros
Gus-Lilja or Foster.
I left out Gervais, because as much as he sucks, a playoff team looking for depth would probably move a 6th or 7th round pick for him.
Goal
I give a Bryz a pass for this season, no goalie would look good playing behind this mess and his workload has been ridiculous. That being said, he needs to step it up next year or he will absolutely be a buyout candidate and for the love of god Homer, get a decent backup!
Rant over

There's a lot of blame and everyone gets some of it.
I think the coaching has been poor and the lack of discipline has led to a lot of poor positional play and losses. That said, the veteran leadership has been lacking in both play and in providing guidance to the younger guys. |

Thats nuts because I always had the impression that Hartnell was a great locker room guy. |
