He's like Tucker and I loved having him on the team. Played on edge, sometimes over but atleast the guy fought, and stuck up for his team.
Kaleta just acts tough then bails.
Sure you don't wanna fight the heavyweights, but I just hate how he acts all high and mighty is all! - bryant
But does the way he act work? Does it get players off their game? Do players take stupid penalties and hurt their team? Could it possibly be his persona that he brings to the ice because it's effective.....it's a distinct possibility |

I'm sorry... I get that you feel an obligation to defend an active player onyour teams roster... But Kaleta can hget on a charter with Raffi Tores, Matt Cooke, Steve Ott, max Lapeir and either Ruutu (take your pick) Dirty dirty dirt bags who couldn't cut it on any of the 30 NHL teams if it wasn't for their "edge". If you're gonna use the Cooke example as someone who can turn things around and clean up their game.. I will point out 2 separate incidents this month that would indicate the opposite - Bluntsmoke
all those players are effective players on the league....Orr was the scumbag tonight, not PK....thus he got tossed. |

Barnaby backed up his mouth as does Ott. Kaleta does at times but you mess with the bull and get the horns. - SABRES 89
Barnaby turtled all the time.
Ott has turtled at least 2x this year and has as many fights as PK.
PK also fought Lucic last year. No props for that? That takes balls. |

Really Homer, your better then that Kaleta not talking crap on the ice..... come on man. I don't need to get anything, I don't like guys that turtle and at times he has. Everybody defends this guy like he's the savior. My point is you play the way he does and talk smack expect to be dealt with. - SABRES 89
Ott talks WAY MORE crap than PK...why doesnt he have to fight more????? |

Bails? If he challanges you then turtles then yes, but he doesnt do that....he gets jumped and doesnt wanna fight...thats different. - Homer
That's exactly what he does though, he'll talk till the bitter end then once the guy gets pissed enough to fight he walks away.
FYI Orr isn't a dirty player though, plays clean and fights, same cant be said about Kalet. |

what Orr did tonight is dirty.
and yes, that what Kaleta does....its called getting under your skin. I think its beautiful. Its hilarious to me that simple words can people so worked that they take penalties that hurt their team.
If we actually had a competent PP it would be ever better. |

I won't even defend Patty as far as him being reckless and crossing the line with outright stupid hits on occasion because he does. I won't defend him being called a scumbag....he's earned that for some dumb hits. But when it comes to him fighting and how he helps the team, whether that's killing penalties or drawing them, Ill defend that all day. He is effective at what he does. And he fights enough in my eyes not to be called out for running away from them. |

They"can be" effective.. They more often than not compete in a manner that is outrightddangerous to a hockey players health... Not just in terms of hockey... But life safety.. I'mssorry... But I have a tough time understanding how this league is better having any of those guys in it.. Cooke Kaleta or Tores.. One day.. One of these clowns is going to end someones life... Then we can all sit and argue the merit of having a game, where we allowed our need for this morons style of play, outweigh the value we place on someone's life... Mark my words... It will happen, almost has a number of times already... But it most definitely will |

Orr is out there for one simple reason. To get energy and defend his team.
Kaleta took a run at a guy and jumped into the sabres boards then dives.
Then looks dumb founded when expected to fight, doesn't even look at the guy and just cowardly hides his eyes at the face off line.

We could be a contender if......
Miller plays like he did earlier in the year
Myers and Ehrhoff play like this every game
We get a true 2nd line
Hodgson improves defensively
Vanek stays healthy and scores consistently
Foligno plays like Foligno
Keep scoring on the PP
That's a lot to hope for over the next few weeks - sbroads24

I agree, I'm not trying to talk smack, it was a fun game to watch and really like hodgson and the pomminville line, just hate how kaleta plays the game.
And miller called him out only to retract his statement later on...weird - bryant
cause Miller is a douche - Homer
Why the hell would miller call him out then? Because he is innocent and a victim?
Gonna talk smack then in the penalty box tonight acting like the tough guy when Orr gets tossed.... That's what pisses me off - bryant
What happened was, a local Buffalo reporter approached Miller after they lost 5-3 to the Capitals. A game in which Buffalo played less than stellar in. A game in which the 5th goal was a blatant goaltender interference.
The reporter says to Miller, I'm paraphrasing because I dont recall the direct quote, "Kaleta said he was pissed he wasnt in the lineup. He said that he has to ask you guys whether or not you still want him on the team"
Miller had not heard what Kaleta said to the media, and the FALSE quote is what got Miller heated. He made those comments because one he was pissed off about the loss, and two to hear that Kaleta was needing to ask his teammates if they want him on the team sounds pretty dramatic.
It was poopty reporting by the Buffalo reporter, who then went to twitter and claimed Miller called him a baby, that never happened.
