Yea well the coach insists on playing firewagon hockey with a group of lead footed defensemen. - JoeRussomanno
And so it begins...didn't even make it to page two without this season's abysmal performance being placed at the feet of Lavy |

I'd only be interested in trading Talbot if it's in a deal that nets the Flyers a promising young defenseman.
Not interested in draft picks, as I think this is a team that contend next year with another piece or two. - bradleyc4
Agreed. Can also insert Coburn for Talbot for those suggesting that the Flyers trade Coburn.

Talbot is not going to bring back a D man of much value. I would take two of the Habs 2nd's(one would have to be the Calgary pick) and move up to take a D man in the mid/late first.
This team could contend next year. Or the next. or the next. That's the nice thing about having a young core. |

I agree Bill. Unless they get an offer they can't refuse, they should keep Talbot. Fedetenko has done what he was brought here to do. One thing I'd like to see next year. Is both Talbot and Fedetenko are the main forwards on the PK. I would like whoever they get to replace Fedetenko, to be a faceoff specialist. They need that. It would also reduce Giroux's PK minutes.
I'd really like the Flyers to bring Gagne back next year. I think he can still play, and can be a solid player. - MJL
Definitely agree! G is the only one that seems to be able to win a faceoff with any type of regularity. This is such an underrated part of the game that creates a lot of chances the Flyers don't get due to their futility in this area! |

Leave us out of your misery, we had to be bad for those 5 or so years. Our top line was Rico Fata- Alexi Morozov-Kris Beech, whats your excuse? A Fraude of some kind perhaps? |

Have you watched this team play? They are a joke 5 on 5 despite having better players on the ice than playoff teams like Ottawa. He's done a terrible job this year. |

I understand that, but there are a plethora of issues plaguing this team that have nothing to do with the coach. |

Yup haven't missed a game this season. Lavy deserves blame for sure, but so do a lot of players that aren't performing anywhere near where they should be. It is also a possibility some of the Flyers aren't as great as people think they are... |

Actually, poor team defense is the number one problem with this team and that's mainly due to the coach continuing to send three forecheckers deep and encouraging even defenseman like Grossmann and Gervais to pinch. They give up a ridiculous amount of odd man rushes while also generating very little even strength offense. And then there's all the botched line changes and too many men penalties...
The only reason for keeping Lavy on till the end of the season is to improve their draft position. |

I live in Canada. I watch them all the time thank you. Question, do you watch the Flyers much? We need several pieces. One is not a goaltender. Of note, I am a very big Luongo fan. However, us trading pieces to maybe slightly upgrade a position and then force us to carry that insane contract?? It doesn't make sense in any world. If we buy out Bryz and you guys buy out Lu, then we sign Lu for a 2year contract at reasonalbe cost.. then you are talking. Also, I doubt Lu wants to play here.. I think he prefers sunny no pressure Florida.
Also, I suspect that package you speak of would be Couturier, Schenn, or some other young forwards like Simmonds. No way the Flyers do that. - Hextall271
I agree with you that the Flyers need several pieces mainly #1 Dman....but I really don't understand why everyone thinks Bryz is solid. He is near the bottom of the league in goals against and save percentage. I know the D has not been that great in front of him this year...and he was playing well at the beginning . But overall he continues to give up way too many soft goals and you will hear any hockey broadcaster say that. I just don't see him playing at a 5.5 million goalie this year. |

You never know. Talbot only makes 1.75 btw. Gaustad got Buffalo a 1st last year. Just be glad I'm not expecting that in return. |

Sorry but when a defenseman sees three forwards down low, they shouldn't be pinching in unless they definitely know they will get to the puck before the other team. Even still, forwards should be rotating back when they see that dman pinching. Line changes and too many men penalties are player issues more than coaching...did you see what Kostitsyn did in Nashville? You think that was Barry Trotz's fault? Give me a break! Pure laziness on Kostitsyn's part |

Looking at the Standings this morning, the Flyers are 29th in a 30 team league.

Florida, Colorado and Calgary all have less points. The wierd thing is that the Flyers chances of making the playoffs increased to 8.1% this morning.

It's not a read and react play for the defenseman in Laviolette's system. And if line change and too many men on the ice issues are repeated, it is absolutely his job to fix that. And his responsibility if it keeps happening.
What Kostitsyn did in Nashville is irrelevant to what is happening here. |

Splitting hairs here, but I think they are 27th. 14th in the Eastern conference, and I do expect them to drop to 29th by the time they play Sunday. It's sad you areright, but I always say, if you miss, you've got to miss really bad.. none of this leafs coming in 9th 10th every every year. |
