Tocchet on Bryz: "I don't know if they like him as a teammate, I don't know. It just doesn't seem that way and the comment he made if they lose both games to Jersey, 'they're done', I don't know if I would have liked that as a teammate. I think I would have said something or did something in practice. You can't say that, a goalie, that if you lose two games to a team, you know, you're done for the season and they did split but I would have loved to ask him if they lost both games, 'are you done?' and, you know, you just can't do that..." - NickTheKid87
Thats after Madden asked him what was wrong in the Philly locker room, thats the exact part i was talking about. I was listening to it not reading it, the dynamic is a bit different. |

And what he said was unreasonable? I had no problem with it, cold hard truth that the team itself needed to know. The fact they went 5-2 the next game against the devils makes it even worse, and having bryz then play a hell of a game the next night should mean all the more. I can understand if he would have just stood there "star gazing" and played poorly. But no he still gave it a hell of an effort. In my opinion to show that he himself is not "done" |

Just finished listening. Meh, methinks Groucho oversold the comments. Anyways, if the team couldn't handle Bryz's comments, they have some manning up to do.
And I'm not talking about calling up Brandon. |

Bryzgalov's comments speak one word to me about those 2 games. Urgency. He was absolutely right. They had to win, and had to do it immediately. No room for error. |

They are a professional hockey team. The players get paid a lot of money to perform. Someone had the balls to lay it on the line. What did they do? Completely laid down. They all need to look in the mirror. Sick of this team.

I'll give Tocchet credit for obfuscation with all of the "I don't knows".
Tocchet could be just speculating or he could actually know something.
Doesn't matter in the end, but I thought Bryz was dead on, anyway. |

Although I think you're wording was a little misleading, I do apologize if I offended you via my skepticism. |

Like Tocchet has room to talk. He trashed the entire city of Philadelphia, the fans, and the team after he was traded to Pittsburgh. And now he's working here again because he couldn't get a job anywhere else. He's a joke, and essentially a failure at everything he's done since he stopped playing. - BringBack25

I listened to it before I read the transcript, and it sounded more like Tocchet providing his own opinion, rather than a pulse of the dressing room. To suggest guys are not trying to help is ridiculous, considering they have four guys with more than 50 blocked shots.
It also ignores that Briere said something very similar the very same day, about the team basically having to treat every game as a playoff game.
Also, if I had to listen to Mark Madden, I think it would take my own life. Jesus what a blowhard. (frank)ing 60 year old guy with a Jimmy Page logo as his twitter avatar and website picture? Grow the (frank) up, Chet. |

They've been calling games "must win" since the 4th game if the season. |

Tocc was giving his opinion on the situation but he never said that the players actually felt that way. He was hypothesizing as to the way he may have felt if he was in the same situation. |

I recall Briere saying pretty much the same thing...that every game now is a playoff elimination game...yet he doesnt back his words...At least Bryz backed his with his play...he was the only one that showed up. He is the reason they even won they second game....
Yet bryz gets bashed on by the media...No pieces on Danny yet....

Frankly, based on what he said, I'm glad he's not in the locker room. It's not the goalie's comments fault that they're in a poop situation.
Of course, the reality is that he was talking for a Pittsburgh audience. |

Hard to believe that a dude that looks like that and follows wrestling as an adult isn't a bigger hit with the ladies.
