There is so much panic over who would replace a guy who is paid like a consistent elite goaltender however fails to live up to that.
Backstrom via FA. Bishop or Hiller via trade. Other options are always out there, simply have to look and see the possibility. Blind fear of who will replace him is another option.
There are much cheaper goaltenders that provide the incosistent level of play Bryzgalov has brought. - flyer_nutter
got it makes sense
you would think with the threat of a buyout players would try harder |

I like Bill's example of how Lehtonen keeps Dallas in games and his situation being similar to Bryz. Need more from the guy. Just the way I feel. |

The Flyers dont get two points. Very realistic chance that happens. |

I don't watch many stars games. But even they prob dont leave their goalie hung out to dry as much as the flyers do |

I was simply talking about the Flyers making the playoffs in general as a team. Nothing to do with Briere.
I dont think this team has a chance to make the playoffs. Thats all I am saying. Not sure where Briere came in there. |

I usually don't when people have to resort to passive aggressive comments like 12 year old girls but I thought higher of you, perhaps i was wrong. |

and that's fine. I don't think they will either but the organization still has a job to do. |

THere's nothing suspicious about a hockey player suffering an injury when he was already injured to start the season and quite possibly has been nursing the injury all of a sudden. Injuries are alluded to/feared/hoped for etc. constantly amongst flyer fandom and lo and behold they happen. Before the start of the season it was debated whether or not Pronger could be effective with all the injuries he suffered and then bam a freak accident happens. Regardless of injury history or not we lost a tremendous force for the club due to a freak accident. But I guess all those people who said the injuries would take a toll saw the future? - JoeRussomanno

My thing comes from one simply fact. Bryzgalov is paid to be a CONSISTENT elite goaltender in the league.
He has let in far too many weak or saveable goals over his time here. Along with not making enough big saves consistently. He has hot stretches where he shows what he is capable of, but the inconsistency mixed in with his cap hit is the killer to me.

glad you can make claims based solely on what suits your purpose while overlooking the mountain of evidence which contradicts it.

Options always exist. I am not a GM so I cannot give all of the names.
Realistic options off the top of my head include Backstrom, Hiller or Bishop. |
