Even after Murray is added, still around 6 milly to play with. Can you imagine if they add JI. - bixll
I think Iginla in Boston would be a great fit. Can see it happening. Don't get me wrong he'd be great with the Pens too of course but he plays Boston's kind of game. |

They would have, one of the toughest teams in hockey history. Certainly in the past 25 years. |

6 Mill? This Cap is not working. I hate when the same teams get all the players. |

I love the way that team is built. Perfect for the playoffs on top of having players developing and up and comers. |

Yeah, the report was something like LA, Chicago, Boston and Pittsburgh.
For the Isles, although I think they'll largely stand pat, I wouldn't mind them selling off the rentals...Boyes, Vis and Streit (maybe bring one of those two d-men back, because our defense will be in really rough shape without both if Snow can't bring anyone else in). Heck, see what you get for Nabby too. There always seem to be good (not great) goalies leftover in free agency these days. But Nabby here for another year would be fine too...his post-game interviews are the most entertaining part of many Isles games, actually.
I probably won't get much agreement here, but I'd be OK with keeping the second line around, provided they do, in fact, slide down to third-line roles. They haven't been that bad as a shutdown line, and all three seem more comfortable in this role. If you forget that two of them are top-10 picks who were billed as The Future, and just accept them for shutdown players who can also sustain a forecheck and chip in some points to boot...well, you can do a lot worse for a third line. Wouldn't be devastated to see any of them traded, but if good offers aren't out there, I think there's a role for them...but it requires getting a solid second scoring line together fast. |

That would be very strange if the Rangers are not on his list. I would think they would need to move a big contract to fit him but who knows? |

Really?
I would think there are quite a few players that would want nothing to do with NYC!!! |

I think he'll come east. Boston didn't shed Thomas' $5M cap hit just to sit on it... |

UIF I could probably live with Frans, KO, and Bailey as a third line. The question is where do guys like Lee and Nelson fit along with some other Bridge guys that may be ready? Also Casey seems like he can handle a higher line. Isles have plenty of decisions to make I have no idea how they bring back a guy like Boyes especially. Vish and Streit may be tougher to let go since the Isles seem to have many more options at forward. I would still rather move Streit, Vish, and Nabby. |

So used to the big names wanting to play for the Rangers. Plenty of examples for it. |

I think Lee would probably need time in Bridgeport. Another season there wouldn't kill Nelson either...unless he really fills out this offseason. And if they're tearing it up down there, or if they come to camp and flat out embarrass players like Bailey and KO, then sure, give them a spot and trade our current players.

I just worry about guys getting fustrated like Nino. A guy like Lee that stayed in college should not need a lot of time and Nelson seems pretty close as well. Isles have been waiting for these guys and it's getting to be that time. Managment cannot put these decisions off much longer. Having said this I do think Bailey and KO will not be moved at the deadline. |

Just to add...I think one question is what happens with a player like Ullstrom? That's probably the biggest problem I have with how he's been handled this season. We hardly got a look at him. He's an RFA after this season...should he be re-signed? For how much? What kind of player is he really? With the limited ice time and then being scratched, he's never had a chance to get into a real rhythm, and the consequence has been we've never got to see what he's all about. He has pressure from players that may be ready to make the jump next year, so this was the perfect season to give him minutes and see what he's got, and they kind of blew it...dressing someone like Reasoner instead. |

This is my worry UIF. We should have gotten a better look at some of these kids by now like Ullstrom and given bigger roles to guys like Martin and Casey. It's all well and good we have these young prospects but was is the point if we have a lousy coach and we handle them so badly? |
