I wonder who dished out the hit that gave Briere the concussion.
I'm guessing Harry Z, and he probably left his feet a little.
- FlyerGuy
I suggested it was his son. |

Is anyone?
Secretly, I wanted Malcolm Subban out of BOS for Briere +. Then evaluate Subban and Bryz until summer 2014 and decide to buy out Bryz then with Subban as the potential heir. Briere picked the worst time to hit a wall. Sorry that pun is to keep me from being too upset. - coffee junkie
So.....
Take a guy fresh out of junior, give him one year in the NHL (bypassing the AHL altogether) and then decide if he is your #1 goalie?
I'm not saying "no" - I'm just saying the Leafs have tried it a few times, and it hasn't ended well.

That's fair. I'm just looking for something of an option if we are going to consider buying out Bryz which needs to be considered with his inconsistency and HUGE contract. Maybe not the best option. Fair enough. Mostly, I would like a good goalie prospect in the system. Sounds refreshing.
Edit: I am not suggesting buying out Bryz this summer. Summer 2014 is a time to reflect on that IMHO. |

They may have two. Stolarz played very well for London after leaving college and Cal Heeter has shown some promise in the AHL. |

If exposing Bryz night in and night out (to multiple odd rushes, etc.) is damaging to HIS psyche, I don't want either prospect's future sacrificed by this reverse buzzsaw of a defensive scheme. |

Well if your talking about trading Coburn and adding Whitney. Someone has to replace Coburn. I personally have zero interest in Whitney. Unless he's come on board for a one year deal at like 1M. Which isn't likely. - MJL
Kulikov or Leddy would be replacing Coburn.

Stolarz has looked really good to start the opening round series against Saginaw. |

Briere has a concussion....WEEEEEeeeee - bradleyc4
Not to worry. Briere has a very small brain to begin with, so swelling should not be an issue for him. He should be back well before the trade deadline. |

A concussion huh? Well, there goes any thoughts of trading him. Hope he heals before its amnesty time.

Heeter is already in the AHL, when is a good time to play the guy? Next year? Then everyone will be complaining about not having a good backup. Throw him in a game. Let him get a little wet behind the ears. Won't ruin him to play him for a game and sit on the bench as a backup. |

I don't think Kulikov or Leddy can replace Coburn either. How are you obtaining Kukikov or Leddy? And if you get one of those two. There is no need for Whitney.
