Great, now we're at risk for being bombed by the Germans. DEFCON 1, here we come. - BulliesPhan87
Ze Germans?
Actually, if BOB RYAB landed here, it would free up other assets to land a defenseman. Say it's FIST, then they trade Read, Simmonds or Hartnell for a defenseman.
My only issue with Bobby Ryan is the retards that fawn over him because he lived in Cherry Hill as a kid and was a Flyer fan as a kid. |

I noticed it why Barrie & Kingston had a break in the action. - ob18
if this has any truth to it, and for some reason I feel there's an inkling of truth, there had better be the need on the blueline coming back or else...

I'm with you, I have no problem envisioning Ryab in Flyers orange. I just don't see a trade for him making sense right now, let alone a Couts for Ryab trade. As it is, we're in need at the blue line, a position that commands a premium price. |

But, if they get Ryan, and then move Read, Simmonds or preferably Hartnell for a defenseman, it provides a proven and consistent 30+ goal scorer for Giroux's line and allows them to get a defenseman
If it's just Couturier for Ryan, it's dumb. |

Horrific. I want really nothing to do with Ryan myself. - flyer_nutter
Why not? Flyers could use a goal scorer thats for sure and Im sorry I just dont see any kind of offensive skill from Couts....I understand this is his only his second year but he has no hands and is not very fast on his skates. I think Flyers would do that deal in a heartbeat that is Ryan for Couts swap. |

they wanna trade schenn, or hartnell or simmonds, straight up? fine, but lets stop stunting the growth of the franchise with blockbuster trades, just cause they make waves and feel good. |

Dreger said involving not necessarily explicit one for one. Maybe Sbisa is in play? That'd be nice. But I agree, doesn't seem like a move Anaheim would pull now going full fledged into the playoffs. After the season maybe, but right now gaining coots and losing Ryan does nothing for them. |

Thise forwards won't get us a decent defenseman. Might as well toss in our best chip to get the best young defenseman possible |

that would be a bad deal for the flyers for cap reasons. yes, the flyers could really use that type of plyr on giroux's wing, but the D has to be the priority if couts is getting moved out. - isaiah520
Totally agree.

that would be my priority. if we traded couts, b schenn + for ryan and for ex., yandle, our top 6 after a DB buyout would be G, Jake, harts, simmer, read and ryan. after that, we'd have to pay G and read the nxt season and replace kimmo...i dunno. |

Dreger did also say it's not necessarily a deadline deal, and stressed that unless it's a hockey deal that can be worked out now, that off season is more likely. Said that Ryan's not being shopped |

he's gonna be a free agent in two years... It makes no sense whatsoever to trade couturier for him. If he really lays in bed at night clutching his bob clarke bobbelhead then he can wait two years to sign here. |

Actually, I think you could get a pretty good defenseman for one of the Flyers forwards, other than Schenn or Couturier. |
