As someone else pointed out, just because he isn't fast, doesn't mean he isn't what you guys need. Hall Gill redux. There is a price to being 240 lbs. though. - Morris
Agree. He fills a need in this lineup. We didn't need another puck mover. We needed another physical presence ... one that can clear the crease. He might not be a fast skater, but that isn't why we acquired him.

I never go to Ek's thread. Too much BS to keep track of. I have a hard enough time talking hockey in the Cloutier threads. - Morris
I really need to stop going to Clouts threads, but he is a piece of work. I need laughable entertainment. Ek's are getting bad too.

You poor guys in Edmonton have suffered enough without having to read Cloutier every day. - Emperor Filonius
The thing that pisses me off is that when Clouts takes his "MAXIMIZE HITS" hat off, he can talk hockey. He just can't help himself and Oilers talk here suffers for it. |

This question is for Bartley...
On a scale of 1-10, where would you rate Dan Byslma's coaching this season and why? |

What's with you guys all pouncing on Glass? he's your biggest hitter (in terms of numbers), kills penalties, isn't overpaid or anything... where did the hate come from? |

Real nice your setting me up, Ill admit he has started to play situational hockey alot better. I still dont like the whole im one of you guys type of coaching style he has but ill give him an 8. Still not a huge fan, but how can you argue with a 12 game winning streak. |

a lot of the guys in here are very much points driven morris. if you aren't scoring goals and getting assists, you are dead to them.
however, points are not the only thing glass is lacking (0 in 33 games). He is also a -8 and has lost most if not all of the fights he has been in. |

Hemsky is worth a prospect ... the next day a first and a prospect.

I don't have as much of a problem with Glass as the majority of the posters. They are bent he hasn't scored a single point.

I don't think Glass has been as bad as some of the others do, but you have to be able to bring *something* to the table in terms of offense now and then....plus, for much of the year, the 4th line just hasn't been very good and Glass has been part of that. I don't expect many goals, but I do want to have a 4th line that can get a bit of a cycle going, use the body, and draw an occasional penalty...instead, they spend a lot of their shifts hung up in their own end. |

Glass was advertized poorly as a more skilled, quicker, great on the PK, more hockey smart Asham.
And thats just not what he is, He is a more healthy, slightly quicker, no where near as tough, doesnt hit as hard, good on the PK,cant win when he fights Asham |

I don't think its the points that matter. He isn't making himself noticeable. Every game he is invisible. The pens need someone to get into opponents faces and knock them off their game. Glass isn't doing that |

Line Combos ???
(fully healthy) - AlfieisKing
Can't tell for sure yet, as we don't know where Morrow and Murray will end up, maybe something like:
Kunitz Crosby Duper
Morrow/Bennett Malkin Neal
Cooke Sutter Morrow/Bennett
TK Vitale Adams
Letang Despres
Orpik Martin
Murray Niskanen
Fleury
(Vokoun)
UndefEaton, Jeffrey, Bortuzzo, Engellend are all scratches. |

I don't see anyone knocking Craig Adams because you can see he brings it on his shifts and he doesn't get points...
Tanner Glass however rarely lays the hits, looses majority of puck battles or turns it over when he has possession and he hasn't won a fight....
Glass does not earn his salary nor does he deserve a roster spot. He belongs in the AHL |

He's a 4th line guy, obviously nobody expects him to score a whole lot. My problem with Glass is he does nothing well. The +/- stat can be misleading, but in his case, he's earned that number. He's played a little better lately, but most of the season he's lost his puck battles and that's when he's actually there at the same time as the puck. Unfortunately, most of the time he arrives late.
The best way to describe him is..... Underwhelming. |

you're right... other than the Caps game recently have you seen what his hits are... they are weak! I don't see his impact... Kunitz and Cooke know how to hit |
