Shero clearly thinks the Penguins will be the last team left standing with the moves he has made the last two days. By acquiring that third round pick, which should be an early round pick, the late 2nd rounder going to SJ becomes easier to part with. - Gunner Staal
What I Love about Shero is when others are talking about getting better he is getting better. He's not scared to trade and I think other GM's are. |

The picks don't bother me at all because 12 games ago isn't that long ago that I can't remember how bad we we're at letting guys stand in front of our net. Improves the PK. We picked up a 3rd yesterday and keep our 1st.
Edit Its 1 2nd if he don't resign - lloyd095
My thoughts exactly. The fact that one pick is conditional makes this trade a no-brainer for us. |

That's an awesome story. I've always enjoyed watching Bret. He's my cousin's all-time favorite wrestler. Sucks that his career got cut short because of a concussion. It really messed him up. - acdc1206
Yeah we talked about that as well, even after the kick him and Goldberg are still great friends.
Side note: best story from the lunch was how he likes to drink wine and shoot lizards with a bb gun at his pool in Hawaii. |

One is conditional on if Murray resigns or not. I thought it was a bit of an overpayment but that evens it would slightly. - kgrpitt
Meh. Bit of an overpayment at most. He's a serviceable defender who fills a big need for the pens.
Shero rarely loses on trades, and he never makes a move for the sake of making a move. |

It seems to me like this is not the end of Shero's magic, I see Jeffery, Engo, and Glass not being on the ice again for the Pens. |

So when's Bortuzzo getting traded? |

Very easy to trade picks when you've got Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Letang and Fleury. Little to no chance of backfiring. I'll give you that some GMs are gun-shy, and making a trade to put a team over the top can be hard, but the better the team, the easier it is to take risks as a GM, especially concerning picks and prospects. |

The Sharks got two second round picks but the second pick is conditional if Murray doesn't re-sign with Pens. #NHL
Even better! - rival22
gotta love those conditional picks.
Ray Shero has a great hockey mind. Just like his dad. |

Oh yeah I don't mind it at all. Im pumped that we got him. Just wanted to point out the point that the one 2nd depended on him resigning or not.
I will never question trades that Shero makes......well okay maybe I will just for the sake of debates. |

Now send Engelland/Jeffrey to WPG for Jim Slater + a pick. Boom. 4th line C depth fixed. |

This is quite interesting what they will do now. This most likely sends Despres to the press box. |

And the game is easy for him based on the work he's already done. He put the right pieces in place. Every year while other teams are still baking a cake he's picking out the right icing. I praise him for the cake moreso than for his willingness to pick out icing. |

MTL is a prime example... They are having a good season but if they hold tight without adding they aren't serious. The same teams take the risks Pens, Flyer, Bruins, |

And before anyone completely freaks out over that, Bennett being sent down or any other craziness, let's wait until April 3rd or whenever Shero says he's done. |

Nope.
Orpik/Martin stay together. Eaton/Niskanen/Murray will have to fight for a spot in the lineup. I like to think Despres is a staple |
