Except he's actually having a decent year.

The biggest problem is, when he makes a mistake with the puck, he gets benched. Then he starts playing afraid to make a mistake, which of course leads to mistakes.

Protect him to instill confidence with 4th line minutes. That philosophy is better then playing in all situations in the AHL? I'm not sure which is the best answer, but sometimes you have to ride a young player to work through his mistakes not staple him to the bench.
