Weren't you the one saying the Flyers would get one and then find themselves down by 3?!? - Flyskippy
Yes, but now I'm worried it'll be more than three. |

once again, i remind everyone that the 29th best offensive team in the league has just scored it's 5th goal on the flyers home ice. - hammarby31

a piss poor offensive team like the Rangers has scored 5 ... and if not for Bryz early on they could easily have had 7 or 8. |

If the Flames & Lightning win the Flyers will be in 3rd well before the draft lottery. - ob18
Homer will end up trading their first overall this year to Buffalo for Tyler Myers before the season ends and the knowing Flyers luck they will get the first overall pick..... |

The trouble that I have with that rationale is, there's teams that have worse defense corps on paper that do so much better.
Ottawa is running a 38 year old Sergei Gonchar out there almost 25 minutes a night. New Jersey is playing Anton Volchenkov every game. They should not be this horrible. - Jsaquella
What can I say? Do any of those teams have problems drafting D like the Flyers do? The system and makeup of this team changes every other year. There's no stability at any position right now. |

Because with every crappy performance is one step closer to a stud prospect by picking in the top 3. Don't lose your focus. - ravishingone
That has to be the focus right now... One of the top 3 picks coming here.. |

I guess my point is it's hard for me to get on the coach when changing it might improve things a little, but in the long run won't solve much. Until the organization gets its act together and decides to seriously draft and develop goalies and dmen, we're just going to have to hope to get lucky, or we'll see the same poop the next 5 or so years. The coaches can change, but the big problems will remain. - feelingkettle
They need better scouting to draft goalies and dmen successfully. It's not like every pick the last 20 years have all had positions listed as C, RW, & LW. |

rangers on their way, without any real dogged offensive effort to potting 5 goals and winning 11 out of their last 12 games against the flyers.
time to go, lava. - hammarby31
seriously. whether it's his fault or not, gotta make a change. that has to be the first shot, imo
you have to try a coaching change before considering wholesale roster changes |

Sometimes there is no answer. It just doesn't work. - stveshdy
The problem there was, I didn't see the coach looking for an answer until the season was do or die.
I'm fine with some player changes and fully agree they need to at least add a good, mobile guy that can move the puck. But at the same time, they're poorly coached. There's no cohesion, no discipline...Hell, the main reason I wanted to make a change awhile ago was so they could get a jump on reassessing their own personnel. |

Pet peeve.
This game was a poop show from the start. Where was any player that really tried to engage physically or start a fight? Even fight back physically.
Aside from Rinaldo, a 4th liner.
That is where frankly Talbot, Giroux, Hartnell and Coburn could all have stepped up. |

Agreed. The jury is out on Bob, but they had a serviceable goalie on the cheap and let him go. I think at this point, even if they get lucky and draft well, they'd either not know it, or be too impatient and trade him away for a more pressing issue. |

Also, Homer needs to sell, sell, sell at the trade deadline. Any player under the age of 24 needs to get all the ice time the rest of the season. |

I wasn't talking about Gonchar, but the team as a whole.
edit: Also, they might be good this year, but an old Gonchar is not a long term solution anyway. Flyers pin their hopes on overachievers overachieving again and then suck when they don't. |
