I wasn't talking about Gonchar, but the team as a whole. - feelingkettle
Point is, it's overblown - or at least shortsighted. Go down the list of players the Flyers have drafted and every position is represented. |

The problem there was, I didn't see the coach looking for an answer until the season was do or die.
I'm fine with some player changes and fully agree they need to at least add a good, mobile guy that can move the puck. But at the same time, they're poorly coached. There's no cohesion, no discipline...Hell, the main reason I wanted to make a change awhile ago was so they could get a jump on reassessing their own personnel. - Jsaquella
I would seriously consider sending Couturier down with the Phantoms and let him play a ton of minutes and gain some confidence back. |

rangers on their way, without any real dogged offensive effort to potting 5 goals and winning 11 out of their last 12 games against the flyers.
time to go, lava. - hammarby31
The new coach and GM are going to have a lot of work to do. This team needs to be scrapped. There isn't a Dman I want on this team next year besides L. Schenn.
Full fledged train wreck. |

What can I say? Do any of those teams have problems drafting D like the Flyers do? The system and makeup of this team changes every other year. There's no stability at any position right now. - feelingkettle
They have had the same system for 3 years, regardless of the changes in personnel.
Most of the Flyers top 5 have been here for 2 or 3 years at least. Luke Schenn is in the top 5 and Bruno Gervais is in as the 7th guy...The other 4 have been here and in this system for awhile |

I never said they didn't draft those positions. I said that they either don't pan out, or when they do, they get rid of them too early to see the results. |

When the best player in the game hooks on a breakaway you just don't question it. I still blame the refs tonight |

They cannot play a solid enough game to win three in a row, let alone two right now. I'm glad I chose to be apathetic or I'd be stressing right now.
Of course, I'm going in for oral surgery tomorrow, so I won't be caring about anything thanks to modern medicine. - Flyskippy

Oh. Right. Then said that they need to draft and develop them. Well, they've been drafting them. Just the wrong ones, is my point. |

I'm not just talking on the D. Forwards, goalie, D, it all adds up. The overall system might remain the same, but the makeup of the team changes, and what Snider wants them to play like changes. |

I'd have zero issue with that. Kid needs to play. Let him play. Laviolette's desperate to keep his job now. He could give a poop about next year or 5 years from now |

Homer said he wasn't thinking of firing Lavy ... but at some point in this ugly season the thought must pop up.
There's just no way this can continue. They look VERY poorly coached out there, especially in our own zone. |

Looked more like a simple lift and sweep of the stick since he was diving and reaching out. Of course, the ref was almost tripped up, too, so maybe he didn't get to see what you saw? |

i just don't think those two add up. i know what you mean, but i think that would be counterproductive
if you want him to get confidence back, give him big minutes with the nhl club. what's the worst that can happen, he ruins their playoff chances?? |
