Seriously though, I think the best thing for the Leafs and Habs is to do very little and stay clear of older, high paid players. Both have good young players in their line up and a bright future. The only two moves I think either team should even consider is Clowe and Clarkson, if they could be had at a good price. Their toughness and ability to chip in offense will be invaluable for the playoffs.

I agree 100%. They are both in good position to excel in the future and no need to go over the top for rentals. |

As skilled as St.Louis is I don't see him being a fit with the already undersized forward crop Montreal has. On the other hand St.Louis would give Boston another legit playmaker aside from Krecji and would look great alongside Horton or Seguin and their finishing abilities . |

If the Habs had somebody with some size to jump on rebounds, they had an excellent chance at winning these last 2 games. Especially the Buffalo game - Miller was giving out rebounds juicier than 10 oz T-Bone, juicier than a Florida orange, juicier than a Kate Upton SI bodypaint video. |

Dont you think at this point they should just do a normal rebuild like any other team and not look for rash solutions like acquiring Yandle at the expense of a first rounder. |

Unless they can get Seth Jones then Yandle would be worth "it". |

I don't want them to make stupid trades, but trading for someone like Yandle severs as a huge long term solution... |

So Pronger was probably the last trade that went awry and you can't account for a career ending injury. Last years lack of offseason performance by Homer has put this team into desperation mode. This team is a few steps behind last years with the losses of Jagr, JVR, and Carle. And while Luke Schenn has played well this year, they are still lacking in the blue line. |

I guess they'll have to weigh the cost for a #1 dman
I'd go with the #1 pick and Coburn |

Ya, it really sucks being small and yet making the playoffs every year. Would much rather be a tougher team and finish at the bottom of the league every year.
Fingers crossed, one can aspire. |

Nah, no desperation mode for a stupid half season where we all knew this team was gonna struggle on the blueline...Like I said, the only trades worth making right now would be for long term solutions to the defense (#1 or 2)... |
