My statement says exactly what it says. You can beleive it says whatever you want it to say. But it's pretty clear. I haven't stated that anything is impossible. - MJL
But your statement (which is a truth) doesn't answer my question (that's a fact). Do you thinkt hat retaining Jagr and Carle would have led to this team winning those said games, which therefore might have this team seriously battling for a playoff spot? Or are you just going to keep repeating yourself like a spoiled pretentious ass you usually come off as? |

Meszaros was injured last night, and is not practicing today. What a pretzel this guy has turned into.

That's putting it nicely. Did you see the routine pass he couldn't control at the blueline? That was simply pathetic. |

I didn't say that chemistry has no impact on how a team plays. I said your premise that the team isn't playing well defensively, because they don't like Bryzgalov, is BS. With the media in this town, covering the team. If there was even a hint of that going around, there would be a story written about it.
The Flyers are playing the same forecheck scheme this year, as they were last year. I don't recall the Flyers being dominant last year. - MJL
I'm not using Bryz as an excuse for their poor play overall. What I'm saying is that guys may not be making that little bit of extra effort that can make the difference in winning puck battles, boxing a guy out, etc. With the exception of the elite players, there is not much difference in the skill set of players these days. A very fine line between success and failure.
As far as dominating last year, I don't think you go 47-26-9, for 103 pts. without being dominant for stretches of time during the season. It's easy to forget now, but there were times last year when they really looked like they had a chance to go deep in the playoffs. We have not seen even one shred of evidence of that type of play this year. |

yeah, after all the hardwork that had been done to create that play, it was gone in a second. He was also poop in his own zone too. |

You'd have to look at my original post. I never said there was evidence. Strictly my opinion. |

He was shockingly terrible last night. He just looks so behind in almost every area. Blame the injuries or not, but his play has been terrible. |

Given all our young forwards, are we still patting ourselves on the back for picking Sean Courturier before Dougie Hamilton? |

mackinnon teaser, anyone else have a bad feeling that we come in 2nd worst and end up picking third and missing both jones and mackinnon? - mydoglicks
Drouin would be a nice consolation prize, or Barkov.
Do you guys see Lindy Ruff being the frontrunner if your coach is fired? |

Hopefully not. I never liked him. I'm not sure why, I just never did. In fact, my favorite thing about him was when Hitchcock said, "Tell Lindy to f--- off."
I'd like the Flyers to get a coach without a ton of NHL experience who's willing to adapt to new changes instead of relying on the same style of play regardless of results. |

Nothing against Lindy, but I don't think so either. He just doesn't seem like the kind of coach Philadelphia would be in the market for if Lavi gets fired. Anything is possible though. |

None taken, Yes I was a fan of his, but I think that was only because he started coaching when I was 10 and that is all I knew. The team underachieved badly a lot of the times with him.
His constant juggling of lines and playing players like Jochen Hecht, Adam mair, and Matt Ellis with under 2 mins to go and down by 1 got old very fast. |

K I heard, and read on TSN about the amnesty buyout...
From what i've understood, if we byout Briere, his 6.8M cap hit will still be on the books for next season--- but not the following seasons
If thats correct, that would really, really suck.
I checked on capgeek as well, and Gomez and Redden's cap hits are still on the Habs and NYR payrolls this season... |

If you are going that far with the team, Bryz should be available as well. If you aren't worried who your number one center will be next year, you shouldn't worry about who your number #1 goaltender is either.
Bryz is a good goalie but he's not elite (and for the record I do think the Flyers should keep him next year). He needs an allstar defense (and he's had allstar defenses in front of him until he got to Philly) to really shine. Philly is never going to be the Phoenix coyotes or even the 2004 Ducks who put 2 allworld defensemen between him and the puck. Outside of the on ice product the media scrutiny is also much higher in philly. There was never really any pressure on him to produce in his previous stops. He was never the man in Anaheim and in Phoenix they are happy with a good regular season. No expectations.
He can make the highlight save but regardless of the breakdowns in front of him he needs to be more consistant.
Anyway, Bryz is the least of their problems right now but he's not St. Patrick or Brodeur. - Flyers_01
Only way I agree to part with Bryz is if we get a guy like Bernier who is young and can handle the job. With Bernier, i'd still wait and see how he does before buying out Bryz. I still think he is a good goalie but he isn't a long term solution.
