if this draft is that solid, the flyers should be open to trading coburn for a 1st rndr+.
coby will rebound, but i think he looks like a guy who's a little too comfortable here. I'd want a top 4 prospect in addition to the pick...given what dreck is fetching these days, it's doable. - isaiah520
The more I think about this, the more I see how it could be workable, especially if they can add a guy like Bouwmeester. |

I'd agree with that. It changes all the time to be honest, but I've got a little thing for Ryan Ellis lately. Having a down year for Nashville, but has a lot of that word we all love, potential.
If the Preds would even be willing to talk, Id look to make a deal. Myers imo will cost Coots + - flyer_nutter
Too small in my opinion. Really lacks size.

But what? Do you really think Buffalo is going to trade Myers? - MJL
Doubtful. If they did they probably would want a lot back in return. |

The 2 kids - Bartkowski and Khoklachev, plus a 1st-rounder - for Iginla. That's the scuttlebutt

Older crowd, but here it goes for those of us born in the 90's.

I would not trade Coburn unless there was an NHL defenseman in the return.

The trouble with TyMy is his massive contract. If he returns to the form he showed as a rookie, great. If not, you have a $5.7mm hit as a third pair defenseman - Jsaquella
I'd gamble that there'll always be an org that thinks they can salvage him. pronger was no world beater out of the gate, iirc. |

Pretty steep price for 15 games + playoffs. |

Don't know much about the kids. Iginla is a great pickup for Boston. Better make it count.

The big worry I have is that his decline has been steadily downward trending. Pronger was up and down in Hartford, before really finding his stride in St Louis.
The contract is the scary part, though. If he rebounds, it's fantastic. If he doesn't... |

Figure they sweep the Pens now right? Chara should have little trouble shutting down Kunitz and Dupuis. |

I think you hit the key point. They don't know who they are, and how to play. that points in one direction. It's like a virus or a disease that has infected the entire team. The ability is there. But they play as individuals. They are fragile, and they don't know how to get out of this hole. The harder they try, the more frustrated they get. And then when something happens, they get down a goal or two. It all blows up. The players on this team, are not this bad. They lack direction. They've developed so many bad habits that haven't been corrected. Other teams against the Flyers are like a pack of Lions that pick out the wounded and the weak animal in the herd of gazelles to attack. The Rangers have been struggling offensively all year. Did they look like a struggling offensive team last night. It's not the players, it's the team that is the issue. If you know what I mean.
As far as the Defense is concerned. Meszaros injuries complicate the issue. But I think they're fine with Coburn, Schenn, and Grossmann. They need to find a replacement for Timonen for the future. And figure out if Gustafsson is going to be a piece moving forward. - MJL
Snider wants one more cup so badly, that he chases what worked last year. This makes Homer do things which also affect the coach. They all need to be on the same page and than build the team. Stick with it, don't keep driving looking only in the rear view mirror.
I hate being negative but I'm down on this whole organization right now. These are the Philadelphia Flyers and this is the kind of BS team that is put out on the ice. |

Montreal took down the giants a few years ago. I dont count out Price.
Boston would be the favourite for me right now probably though yes. Still waiting to see what Chicago does. |

What I know is that the talent base is there for this team to be a really good team for a good number of years. So this year is a disappointment. Only goes up from here.

The SCF champions will come from these 5 teams. Bruins, Pens, Hawks, Ducks, Kings.
Not exactly going out on a limb. Montreal would be in the next group with the Rags. |

Have to hope the talent hits its potential.
Right now they have holes to fill and need an identity. |
