Feaster is the worst GM in the league... hands down!!! - jimmc7722
Its not a bad deal. He got a first and two prospects. For a guy who is a rental. A guy that might just be re-signing in Calgary after this season. If Feaster re-signs Iginla, the deal is a great one. If he doesn't, its just a decent deal. |

Everyone seems to be on the boat to trade Streit, Vis, Nabby, etc. If they move those guys, they are essentially dropping out of the playoff race. Dropping out of a playoff race they are two points out of a playoff spot in with 15 games to go. It sends a terrible message to the players and fans. Besides, what do people think the Isles are going to get for Streit, Vis and Nabby when Doug Murray fetched two second rounders and Iginla fetched a late first rounder and two marginal prospects? |

on the flip side of that...garth might have helped himself and the islanders. by allowing the bruins to be players in the iginla sweepstakes, that was one more team to help drive up the price for iginla; granted it wasnt a very high price but having one more team competing for iginla definitely cost the pens more - LetsGoIsles
More than what? They gave up scraps. |

just because i said it cost them more DOESNT mean they got fleeced...im just saying, they could have given up maybe 1 of those 2 prospects OR included a worse prospect had the bruins not been involved |

Half the league was interested in him. You keep mentioning the Bruins like they were the only team outside of Pitt that was interested. |

you keep on jumping to conclusions...i never said they were the only team...but by definition, the more people that are interested in something drives up the value of that item. can you understand that?
its simple supply and demand...focus on the bold...thats the ONLY thing im saying. |

No shat!! That was your point? Except that wasn't the case in this deal because Calgary had limited options due to Iggy's NTC. |

A writer for the Isles on Hockey Independent suggested that the Isles might want to trade the 2013 first rounder and one of either Poulin/Nilsson for Jonathan Bernier. I'm kinda intrigued. You can't win without goaltending and with all due respect to Nabby, who has been solid, he hasn't been that great and he's 37 years old. I think its a pretty fair trade both ways. Discuss. |

doug murray is a slow average stay at home defensman...teams desperate to solve their power play will over pay. look at the Kaberle deal..toronto got a one and joe coburne. also if streit and viz dont resign it it changes things...maybe you move one of the two.. i'm not saying trade them..but listen to offers and if a team blows you away you have to do it. LA SJ chicago and Boston are desperate to fix their power play |

I made this point yesterday...didn't work. Teams are not trading first round picks for dman right now. |

poulin not nilsson and i'd trade the 2014 1st rounder..this draft is too deep |

I wonder though how many of those 'interested' teams actually made a pitch for him. |

I would do that if the Isles fall out of the top 7or 8 in the draft. I might do that regardless if they took poulin instead |

Not sure. It depends if Iggy made it clear to management that he would only go to Pitt. If he didn't then I would think a lot of teams did inquire. |

I agree and if a team trades a first, its going to be a late first, from a team that's going to finish among the top of the league. I doubt Streit brings back a first. Vis might, but I sincerely doubt it. I think the best you do for them is a second rounder, the best you get for Boyes and Nabby are third rounders. |
