in many ways, this yr is worse than '07 because that roster was pathetic and we had a new regime that was planning big exciting changes. i look at this roster and i don't see how we can jump back into contention w/o considerably paring down our already unproductive forward core.
while we are waiting on young players to improve we may have to watch them play their best yrs in another city hoping that the players we brought in can do the job. i know this- there won't be any kimmo and harts available for that extra 1st rndr that we don't have anyway.
i'm ready for a new direction organizationally, but as long as ed's around that seems unlikely. - isaiah520

time to stockpile draft picks and get some help in the minors. Homer has to stop picking up these slugs and draft for the team needs. we all know if /when the flyers get the first pick they will go for the center. - vejim
What we know the Flyers will do, is follow their draft strategy. Which is to draft who they feel is the best players available. If it's a Center, so be it. And I agree with it 100%. |

it's time for some stability and continuity. the roster overhauls need to stop.
i'd like to see a #1 defensemen brought in so everyone can slot in to more appropriate pairings. but that will be difficult to pull off. outside of defensive upgrades, there should only be minor tinkering. - bradleyc4
i think stability needs to come from the top. we need to stop squandering assets in an attempt to win now. better to have a firm organizational plan that we stick with, so i'm all for patience, but i don't think this regime is capable of it. |

Without Chris Pronger, and Matt Carle eating away minutes, it just exposed Coburn and Meszaros has the poopty players they are. |

You lost JVR, Jagr, and replaced them with nobody. Homer spent his life savings on the lottery in the off-season and lost. |

You're post advocated trading young assets and going in a new direction. This Organization and GM took a team that finished last overall, and took it to the Cup Finals in a handful of Seasons. So they've proven they're capable of it. |

Yeah, Carle has looked fantastic without Pronger down in Tampa. Getting rave reviews from everyone. |

I agree entirely. This is a very good young team. Far too much attention has been given to the failure of the young forwards. But, they need somebody to get the puck out of their own end, make the break out pass and control the power play. Goaltending is fine.
It is not unlike an NFL team that is talented at every position trying to win despite having a very average quarterback. You have no idea how good the receivers can be until you are able to get a guy who can read the defensive coverage and get the ball into the hands of the open man.

Schenn/Timonen
Grossmann/Coburn
The rest of the d-core needs to be upgraded.
Mez is like a glass jar. Can't depend on him at this point. |

actually, i anticipated homer's usual MO applied to this roster and i'm ready for something different. i think homer's got very few bullets left having wasted a few trying to win the previous yrs cup. |

Play the kids.
Play them as much as possible.
Give Harry Z an extended look.
Lets see McGinn for the rest of the season.
This is Claude's first real test as captain, trying to hold a "team" together even though they aren't in the hunt for the playoffs.
No tanking! I want to see 60 minutes efforts from everyone on the ice. We haven't really seen it this year, except for maybe 1 or 2 games.
Go Flyers!!!
- ggunky
Agreed. Let's see what the kids are made of and get rid of as many old guys as we can...even if it is for 5th rounders. I want to see what the kids are made of for 2013-2014. What kind of problems does this team really have? As bad as they are, I cannot stop watching so I'd like to see some effort. Couterier made some improvements last night. See what he can do in a more offensive role and how he responds. |

We don't know he would have waived his NMC even if he was healthy. And there's only two buyout candidates on the team, so it doesn't really matter. Funny how their last names both start with the same two letters. |

Only other option is to "hope" a team trades for him in the offseason. |

Bryz looked lost in the shootout last game. Fans can't blame the defense in the shoot out. He is the worst goalie 1v1 in the game. |

What is the usual MO that you anticiapated? You've criticized Homgren and the Organization repeatedly for their lack of patience in developing players. Now you posted that you think the Flyers young player will have to grow up in another Organization. And that they should go in a different direction. What gives? |

He would not have waived his NMC... zero chance because of family issues. |
