Everett forgot to show up in the 1st - ob18
They leaving Lotz out to dry or what? I mean, they lost 4-1 and 7-3 already and are now down 5-1 after 20 minutes? Scary. |

They will have to do that anyways b/c hes only signed for one more season. - stveshdy
That's one more year that they get to figure out how to better bridge the gap between Timonen and their future. |

Considering this year's crop is as deep as a teaspoon compared to 2014's class, it's definitely a good thing they have an extra year. |

Thats fine. I personally just dont think hes worth $6M at this point in his career. I understand that his price would be the same on the open market but that doesnt mean you have to give him it. They let Carle and Jagr both walk. Jagr I could understand bc they had a replacement but Carle was a different story.
Anyways, we all have different views on it. |

Thats definately one way to look at it. It buys them alittle more time to see how they can upgrade the blueline. From my view even when Timonen is done they wont have another Timonen on the market or through trade. They have to find players who fit their identity and style. |

If Flyers pick at 4(hopefully worst case scenario) who do you take or do you trade down? |

They have to figure out their identity and style before they try anything else. This team is listless - not exactly the identity they want. |

Of course, of course. Not trying to say one's necessarily better than another, just see it differently. |

Regardless of where we are, I take a defenseman. And no need to trade down, in my opinion. The 2013 draft is littered with talent. |

I'm hoping for the best but not expecting a Kjell Samuelsson "wrap 'em up and let the partner clear the puck" sort of performance tomorrow.
I'll be in attendance. Guess I'll wear my # 19 Hartnell since he'll be playing compared to #8 Grossmann. |

I'm just hoping for a pleasant surprise, a guy who gets his shot, never looks back, and turns into a solid 4/5 d-man.

Because, outside of the top 3 Sean Monahan is the closest to a sure thing. |

I'd like to understand that as well because maybe that will allow me to come up with some crafty and incredibly dastardly plan to get one of Columbus' 3 first round draft picks!
My spidey-sense tells me they are going to be a legit contender in the East in a couple years. |

I'd be willing to trade a shot at Monahan for two first rounders. Columbus has 3. Two of them could well be in the 7-16 range. I'd give up my shot at Monahan for a shot to get two out of the group of Nurse, Pulock, Ristolainen, Zadorov, Morrissey, Shinkaruk or Mantha
So I'd trade 4 for two picks between 7-16 |

YES!
I don't doubt for a second Columbus would trade one of their firsts for a combination of top prospects and/or roster players.
The sad part is, we likely have nothing they want. |
