Portland is a deep team, loaded with high end talent, does that make Seth Jones seem better then he really is?

I think the forwards are comparable; they had Carter, Richards, Umberger, and Upshall. Also, remember that they were able to bring in Jason Smith, Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell, and Lupul in trades, plus the late-season acquisition of the good version of Coburn. They also signed the good version of Briere as well. That was a pretty drastic overhaul. I don't think the pieces are out there to do some of those deals again.
I really think next year will be more of the same. I hope not, but I think they need to only make moves of pieces signed past this year if they're blown away, and restock the cupboard. Maybe in 2 years start to build after you've have 2 seasons to see what is and isn't working.

I see that Dekeyser signed with Detroit..despite our best effortst to sign him..great.. That would have been a solid signing to begin rebuilding the D and he could have started right away..
