Leighton with the shutout today. - stveshdy

Bill,
Holmgren turned around the 06-07 mess very quickly. Can it be done again?Looking at the rest of the competition, it seems like it might be years before the Flyers are serious contenders. - 2731color
Really big difference this time around is the fact that the Flyers have a great young offensive forward core to build around..That year they had nothing. |

Loving the echl caliber defense - Philly1980
It looks bad on paper but on the ice it will look better. |

Hey prospect man...
Portland is a deep team, loaded with high end talent, does that make Seth Jones seem better then he really is? |

I think the forwards are comparable; they had Carter, Richards, Umberger, and Upshall. Also, remember that they were able to bring in Jason Smith, Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell, and Lupul in trades, plus the late-season acquisition of the good version of Coburn. They also signed the good version of Briere as well. That was a pretty drastic overhaul. I don't think the pieces are out there to do some of those deals again.
I really think next year will be more of the same. I hope not, but I think they need to only make moves of pieces signed past this year if they're blown away, and restock the cupboard. Maybe in 2 years start to build after you've have 2 seasons to see what is and isn't working. |

Think it's the other way around.... Expect Boston to spend 90% of the time in our One... It's gonna look like a 50 minute power play. At least I'm excited to lauridseb, other than that I expect a massacre today... Just get that feeling
I see bryz begging for a buyout after today |

I agree. Free agency sucks this year... No assets to trade either without creating holes |

Your about to see a blueline that knows how to move the puck today. Boston is in trouble.
Bryz shouldn't start today. Go with Leighton we need a spark. |

I see that Dekeyser signed with Detroit..despite our best effortst to sign him..great.. That would have been a solid signing to begin rebuilding the D and he could have started right away.. - Hextall271
Can't blame the kid for wanting to sign with a winning Organization. |

This is not Lavi's fault that his defense is made of glass (this year). |

Most of the chips to trade are injured.
Unless he wants to move a young forward which I doubt.
